Birchbox is one of the first subscription boxes. It is only $10.00 a month and you can earn some amazing rewards. I have subscribed to boxes for over a year, but just recently, subscribed. Each month you will get a box filled with 4-5 beauty, grooming, and lifestyle samples from both up-and-coming and well known brands. Each delivery will include a mix of categories. Samples are generously sized, with enough product to allow you to figure out if they’re right for you. When you sign up, you fill out a beauty questionnaire, so Birchbox can better pick your products. You can find your profile by clicking on “Account Settings” in your account. Click “Edit Profile,” fill out the questionnaire, and then save your preferences. So what made me decide to subscribe? I decided to subscribe based on the amazing points system. For every 100 points you earn, you get $10.00 to spend in the shop. There are lots of ways to earn points too!
From the Lab is a beauty/skin care subscription. Their beauty editors and advisers meet with the top cosmetic labs in the world to bring you small, limited lab runs of the most innovative beauty products up to 18 months before they’re in retail stores. Each month, you will receive a full, 30-day supply of one, two, or three products of Skin Care, Hair Care, or Color Cosmetics. Every product that you receive is a luxury product, not yet available on the US market, with a projected retail value of $50-$200. These products often have patented ingredients, are manufactured in Europe by the top labs, and are more innovative than what’s available on the US market today. The cost is $29.95 a month plus s/h, but right now, there are great deals for longer subscription. From the Lab also has a point system. Once you earn 1.000 points, you earn $10.00 for the store. They are working on their system, and will be adding more ways to earn points. Plum District had a coupon recently, that let you try From the Lab for free, you just paid shipping.
