Girls Can! Crate June 2019 Review + Coupon
Disclosure: This post contains affiliate links. I received this box for review.
Girls Can! Crate is a subscription box for girls 4-8 to teach them that they can BE and DO anything. Boxes are $29.95/month and each box is themed around a new fearless woman. My Girls Can! Crate February 2019 review is going up a bit late because my kids have a very intense school and we haven't had much free time.
Boxes contain 2-3 STEM/art projects, a 20 page GIRLS CAN! activity book, creative play props, a focus character trait for little ones to practice, a character trading card with a featured character trait for kids to practice, 2-3 practical tips for parents to help foster that trait in their little ones every day and MORE.
If you read my reviews, you know I just have two boys; however, I think it's important to teach boys and girls that anyone can be who they want. I wanted to do this box with my boys, so they will learn about fearless women and that women can do anything a man can do.
Girls Can! Crate gives 10% off the profits back to non-profits that work to empower women and girls.

First Look
This card gives details about everything in the box and the different projects.
This month, the featured female is Grace Murray Hopper. There is a card that gives grown-ups information about how you can help girls take more risks.
Girls Can Crate gives information about Grace Murray Hopper.
My kids enjoyed learning about the history of computers.
There were activities, games, and products you can do at home.
Activity #1: Make Your Own Computer
You can turn your box into a mini-play computer. Just cut part of the box and these papers out of the book.
My son uses our computers at home, so he didn't play much with this computer, but it's great for pretend play.
Activity #2: Code Your Name
This was my son's favorite project in the box. You child learns to code and then makes a necklace with their name coded with beads.
To make it easier, your child codes their name in the book and then can use that pattern to make the necklace.
This is my son's name in code!
Activity #3: Coding Game
There was a game in the box that the whole family could play. You cut out all the blocks then set up the Grace card and the ship card separately. Your child then makes a map with the arrow cards to get Grace to the boat. You can play this game multiple ways and we had fun playing this at camp.
Each box also comes with a button, themed around the box's theme. You could get a ribbon and hang it in your child's room to display all the buttons.
Your child can dress up as Grace Murray Hopper with this hat. My son still plays pretend, so he enjoyed playing with this hat.
Final Thought: This was a fun box and my son liked playing the game and making the necklace. Though this box is designed for girls, it's still a great box to teach boys about important women. If you want to subscribe, use the coupon LAUNCH20 to save 20% off your 1st box.
