Kids'n'Craftz June 2018 Subscription Box Review

I love the Kids'n'Craftz box. My son was excited to see what was in it.

First Look

Science

Build the Earth, Moon, and Sun

All the crafts are bagged, so it's easy to grab a craft and go.

Build the Earth, Moon, and Sun

Build the Earth, Moon, and Sun My youngest son grabs any activity that uses model magic. This kit makes the Sun, Moon, and Earth.

The yellow and blue were combined to make green for the land on Earth.

Forming a planet.

This was my youngest's favorite project. He continued to play with the leftover dough to make something else. The directions included directions to make a solar system from more model magic.

Technology

How a computer is made

How a computer is made My kids are very tech savvy, but my 9 year old loved learning more about computers. The instructions gave information about RAM, hard drives and other parts of the computer. As your child learns about each piece, they can assemble it in the computer.

All the pieces are cut out, then glued to the computer. The computer piece is glued to the cardboard to make it more reinforced.

There were guides on the computer, so your child can easily assemble the computer

My son made a Linux computer, mainly because he loves penguins.

Math

Pipecleaner Numbers

Pipecleaner Numbers This activity is about learning numbers and number sense, which is a hard concept than just 1-10. Your child will make a set of numbers out of pipe cleaners and then put the correct number of beads on each one.

Pipecleaner Numbers

My son found the writing the numbers out first made it easier to make the numbers. He knows all his numbers, so we worked on learning addition facts.

My son got a bit fidgety at number 10, so I helped him with that one.

Art

This was one of the most creative projects in the box. Your child takes the partial Mona Lisa and finishes it with their own creativity.

My oldest really isn't into drawing much, so I was surprised he selected to do this activity. He got right to work on his piece.

This is sailor Mona with her key and ship.

Engineering

Marble Maze

Marble Maze This project turned out to be the most inspiring of the box. Your child uses Wikki Stix to make a maze for marbles.

My oldest loved this activity. Once he was done, he got his marbles and cardboard to make a bigger maze.

Both of my boys worked on this one together and had a great time.

Final Thought: My children were able to enjoy STEM projects as well as an art activity. Both of my boys were able to sit down and craft and create together without fighting, which is always a win. I like that there were facts about each topic, easy to follow directions and some bonus activities. Use the coupon FREE to get free shipping when you subscribe.
