Cultured Crate is a Brand New subscription box for children 5-14 years old and it is only $14.00 a month (Including Shipping)!
What is in the box? From the website “The cultured crate will contain 3 to 5 items that vary in such a way that they cross the planet. Each item will be from a company that gives back, has a purpose or needs your support. There will be fair trade items with the story about the hands that crafted them. There will be items from small artists that need exposure. Art supplies, New music and Quirky items that you did not know existed. The sky is the limit with the Cultured Crate. There will also be treats every month, assorted boxes every month and a prize for mom or dad that could be a coupon or another cultured ware. Either way the crates will be designed with heart and care for each cultured member.”
There are two different boxes: *5-10 years old and *11-14 years old.
Availability: This box is still in Beta (Test) but should be fully up and running soon. There are only a limited number of slots available for the August box, so sign up now if you are interested!
Payment: They take Paypal right now. This is very exciting, as I love the protection Paypal provides.
I think this box sounds fantastic! What do you think?
You may have read my past reviews on the Little Book Club. I really liked their books, but ultimately canceled due to slow shipping times.
The following was emailed to customers today:
“Friends,
From its inception, The Little Book Club has been a part-time labor of love for Sara and I. We started the company so our kids could both be exposed to great new books, and so that they could learn about the work that goes into starting a company.
However, its become clear to us that The Little Book Club has grown into something that needs more than part-time attention. Inventory issues (theft and supplier delays), shipping logistics, and 24 hour customer service are all things that have proven too much for our little company.
We've decided that closing down the company is the right thing to do for our family.
Over the next few weeks, final boxes will be sent out, refunds will be posted if you've been billed for the next month already, and accounts will be closed.
To be clear, no payment will go unaccounted for – you will either receive a box for the month, or a full refund in the very near future.
Starting this company has been a joy – we've met many wonderful people, and have been exposed to many wonderful children's books we never would have discovered otherwise.
Sara and I wanted to sincerely thank all of you for being members of The Little Book Club.
-Doug”
It is sad to see another subscription box go, especially one promoting books. If you are looking for another book subscription box, Sproutkin has two different programs.

After reading other blogs about this box, I decided to sign up for myself. Stitch Fix is a subscription box that send 5 clothing items a month. They send accessories, shirts, skirts, dresses, pants, jeans, etc. You pay $20.00 for a stylist to pick out your items. You try them on in your own home. If you like one of the items, you can buy it, otherwise you send the rest of the clothes back. It is free shipping both ways. The average price of an item is $75.00. If you decide to keep all 5 items, you get 25% off your total. Your $20.00 also comes off any item you decide to buy. You do risk loosing $20.00 if you don't like anything. You fill out a style profile and you can link clothing boards on Pinterest to the site, so you stylist has even more information.
I have 2 little boys and rarely get to shop alone. I don't have a strong fashion sense and wanted to try this. I should get my first Stitch Fix next week! Be sure to check back and see what I get.
If you are interested in signing up, you can do so HERE. I couldn't find a coupon code to use when you sign up, but if someone signs up with your link, you get $25.00 to use toward your next Stitch Fix.
