Try the World shipped in a plain brown box (someone I didn't get a picture of it).  I love the Try the World boxes, because they are very sturdy, and have a pretty teal color.  The Holiday Box was wrapped with a red ribbon.

038Try the World always includes an a culture guide.  Usually the Culture Guides focus on one particular country.  Since this is a special Holiday Box, Try the World includes information about signature treats from all around the world, and much more.

039

The first few pages in the book, showed information about signature holiday treats from around the world.

040

There was a recipe to make you own Brigadeiro Balls.

041

There was holiday playlist with a listing of holiday songs from around the world.

042

There was also a holiday movie list from around the world.  I really liked the culture guides in Try the World boxes, as they really give you a deeper look into different cultures.

information card

Try the World included an information card with all the items in the box.  Try the World also gave a background about where each item came from.

023a

HazerBaba Turkish Delight with Pistachio:  This was the mystery treat in box.  These were little jelly/gummy squares that had pistachio in them and covered in powdered sugar.  My husband and 2 year old loved these.

024a
Doce De Leite, milky spread:  This is a set of three milky caramel spreads.  These come in natural, coconut and plums.  You can spread these on crepes or bread.  We aren't very fancy here, so we will use it on bread.  This is from Brazil.
030

Favarger Milk Chocolate: This Swiss chocolate is really outstanding.  I would have to say this is one of my favorite milk chocolate bars.  My 2 year old and my husband loved this too, they are total foodies.
027

Palais Des Thes: This French tea came in three flavors: Saint James OP (a black tea from Sri Lanka), The des Amants (A black tea with apple and spices).

026

Les Confitures à L'Ancienne:  This French cocoa mix is so tasty.  I had this in my mini Paris box and it was so tasty.  I am very happy to get more.  Cocoa disappears

025

Rip Van Wafels: These waffles are filled with caramel and cocoa.  You put one on a cup of coffee and let it get warm.  The waffle get ooey gooey good.

028

Annas Pepparkakor These Scandinavian cookies taste like ginger snaps.  These are super fresh and taste great.  My whole family loved these.

037

Urbani Tartufi Truffle Products: The was a sample was white truffle oil  This can be used in cooking.  There were also two truffle candies in the box.  There was one white chocolate and one dark chocolate candy.  My two year old loved the white and I loved the dark.

033

Final Thought: I didn't do a full cost breakdown on this box, but I thought it was a great box.  I loved the wide variety of treats.  The HazerBaba was a biggest hit of the box, and the chocolate bar was a close second.  I can't wait till the next snow fall, I will be drinking that hot chocolate.  If you want the Holiday box, you can get it FREE, when you buy the Paris Box ($39.00).  Just click HERE to sign up for Try the World.  Once that deal is over, you can HERE and use the code SBMOM12 to save 30% on your first box.

Hi. I got my holiday box in a few days ago and was very pleased, although I wanted to point out that the box’s contents apparently do vary. I didn’t get the Turkish delights or hot chocolate mixes and only had one tea sample. I did, however, get the jar of Brazilian Brigadeiro Spread (as shown in the picture in the info pamphlet). Overall pleased – esp. as this is supposed to be a free box – and am looking forward to my first paid box.

  2. Emily, January 31, 2015:

They don’t care about their customers. I’m so disappointed with my experience. I received a 3 box subscription for Christmas. After waiting 35 days, I finally got a refund. I tried repeatedly to call and email (and post to Facebook). They deleted my negative feedback on Facebook and gave me the runaround when I got an email back. Please spend your money elsewhere. I don’t want anyone to go through what I went through while dealing with Try The World. They really need to get their act together as far as customer service and delivery goes. I wish I could have written a positive review for this company…

  3. Little Miss Boxy, March 6, 2015:

These comments are consistently the case. Try the World makes paying customers wait in order to generate positive reviews with free boxes for bloggers. They delete any negative posts on Facebook and ignore emails. It’s a terrible display of ethics. Both Try the World and French Box have shown this repeatedly and yet they keep getting positive reviews on blogs, which is upsetting because readers should be aware of this. French Box apparently shot themselves in the foot recently but Try the World makes it very hard to find honest reviews. If you notice, 95% of the reviews you can find were people who received free products and every customer question gets deleted on Facebook. This isn’t good business.
