First Look
There is a welcome letter explaining the subscription and the answer key for the activity guide.
This is the list of all the activities in the box.
As your child completes an activity, your child can put a star on the colorful trail.
This paper explains the steps for enjoying this box and what's inside.
These are some of the activity sheets in the booklet. This was a fun book to take on a recent vacation. My child and some family members' kids had things to do on the way to our destination.
Basics Bag
The basics bag contains items your child will need to complete all 20 activities. My bag included paint, a paintbrush, a pencil, liquid glue, a glue stick, a permanent black marker, scissors, a hole punch, crayons, and a marker.
Extras
There were two different colors of modeling clay and some tiny kiwi charms. Your child can mix the colors for some creative play.
Numbered Craft Bags
There were several numbered bags that corresponded to activities in the book. These items go with various activities in the guide.
Activity Book
This activity book is the key to the subscription box. There are pages for every activity in the box.
When you are ready for “me time,” tear out a page in the book and get the corresponding bag. Your child will have everything they need with their basic bag and the activity for 15-20 minutes of independent play.
There are 20 different activities in the book.
Activities
There are so many activities in the box that your child will have hours of fun. Each activity comes in a little pouch with everything your child needs to complete it. I included some of the activities my child completed in the book.
3. Africa Flora & Fauna
This activity had colored dots, and you could match up the colored dots to the corresponding animals.
5. Elephant Mask
I forgot to get a picture of the glue and scissors from the basic bag for my photo. Your child cuts out the shapes, glues them on the ears, and adds a ribbon for the mask.
7. African Beads
This activity was very quick but fun. My child had fun designing the pattern and then gave me the necklace.
12. Elephant Hanger
There were two crafts in this project. The wooden elephant had a hole in the top to make a hanging elephant. The other elephant was a purple foam elephant that you could customize.
14. Africa Mobile
The animal mobile was one of the longer projects. There were multiple animals to cut out to design your own mobile. My child had trouble tying the elastic, but he enjoyed the project.
15. Binoculars
The directions for the binoculars were a bit off. The directions stated you had to make the round black tubes, but two black tubes were already included. This made the project even easier for kids. Parent help was needed to make the holes to tie the ribbon.
17. Hungry Hippo
Your child can enjoy eating or gluing with this project. There were some marshmallows to glue on the teeth spots of the hippo's mouth. The hippo head glues down to the cardboard stick. Your child can use this as a puppet and make your own stories.
18. Lemur Lemur
This lemur craft was a favorite for my child. This craft used a combination of paint and glue to complete the project. The head and tail are glued down. Then, my child painted the edge of the plate (body) and glued down the grey pom poms.
Final Thought: I was impressed with the number of crafts in the box. This box would last all month with things to do. There are 20 crafts alone, plus an activity guide. This is a great box for kids to keep them engaged in an activity without using screen time. I wish there were a bit more glue included, but my crafter might be glue-happy. Overall, this is an engaging box for children that will keep them occupied the entire month. If you want to try Clever Parent, use this link with the code LAUNCH50 to save 50% off your 1st box.
