Kekao August 2023 Chocolate Box Review + Coupon

Kekao is a craft chocolate subscription box.
Boxes are $42.99/month and come with 4-5 full-sized bars per box. The makers control the entire chocolate-making process. Kekao doesn’t include information cards in the box, as each artisan chocolate bar contains details on its wrappers.
You can buy a sample box for $45.99, containing four premium specialty-crafted chocolate bars.

Kekao included directions on how to taste and enjoy chocolate properly.
Goodio Wild Blueberry 61%
Goodio was founded on principles of sustainability, well-being, and transparency. The bar is a combination of 65% raw chocolate and wild blueberries. This was one of my favorite bars in the box. The sweetness from the blueberries mixes well with the dark chocolate.
French Broad Chocolate
French Broad Chocolate is a bean-to-bar chocolate maker in North Carolina. The bar is 75% cacao and is sprinkled with sea salt on the back. I love the combination of chocolate and sea salt, but I didn’t love this one as much as I thought I would. It was a bit too much sea salt for me, but it’s all personal preference.
Qantu Morropon 70%
Qantu was founded in 2015 by Elfi and Maxime. They encourage the farms they work with to grow native varieties of cacao. This bar had a bit of a change in temperature on the way to me, but it still tastes fantastic. This has notes of cherry and plum, along with 70% cacao. The dark chocolate mixes nicely with the sweetness of the fruit.
Blanxart Nicaragua Eco-Organic 85%
This brand was founded in 1954 by master chocolatier Francesc Agrás. The brand has grown to be a huge brand. This is a dark chocolate made with 85% Criollo and Trinitario cocoa from Nicaragua. This has a high percentage of cacao, but it still has a smooth taste. It has notes of lemon, orange, flowers & nuts.
Final Thought: I enjoyed my Kakao box this month. My box was an assortment of high-quality chocolate. I particularly liked the Goodio Wild Blueberry bar and the Qantu Morropon bar. If you love craft chocolate, check out Kekao. Use the coupon SUBMOM to save $5 off your 1st box.
