July 2023 Monthly Essential Oil Recipe Box

The recipe box comes in a small brown box with the branding on top.

First, look in the monthly box.

There is a list of all the essential oils in the box. The card states if the essential oil is pregnancy safe, safe for kids, dog-safe, or cat safe.

Tangerine

Tangerine smells just like you would think, a very citrus smell, and it can be used to uplift, stimulate, aid digestion, and support immunity. It's safe for kids two and up, pregnancy safe, dog safe but not cat safe. This essential oil comes from Italy and has a tangy and citrusy scent.

Eucalyptus

Eucalyptus is my favorite essential oil and the one I buy routinely. It uplifts, stimulates, energizes, soothes, and supports respiration. It's safe for kids ten and up, and pregnancy, but not for dogs or cats. I use this when I am struggling with my allergies or if I have a cold, and it lessens the symptoms. Eucalyptus is described as clean and herbaceous.

Downtime

Downtime helps with centering and is used often during massages. I have never owned this essential oil, but the slightly floral scent was familiar from massages I have had. It's unsafe for dogs or cats but can be used for kids over ten and during pregnancy. This blend is made with frankincense, bergamot: marjoram, ho wood essential oils.

Palmarosa

Palmarosa is used to calm, skincare, support rest, and soothe. It's safe for kids over 2, pregnancy, dogs, and cats. This essential oil is made of Cymbopogon and martini.

These stickers go on top of the essential oils in the box and label the recipes you make in this box.

Recipes

There are six different recipes in the box. The bonus box gives you almost everything you need to complete each one. I had to get some containers for the recipes and a cup of sugar, but that was it.

Additional Ingredients

Simply Earth included bath salts, rose petals, and Natrasorb Bath Powder in the box to be used with a few recipes. I forgot to take a picture of the ingredients before making the recipes, but there was more than enough for every recipe.

Fresh Cut Flowers Diffuser Blend

I'm providing partial pictures of each recipe card to ensure subscribers receive exclusive access to all the printed information. Each card is well-written and easy to follow.

The first recipe makes an excellent essential oil blend of Downtime, Tangerine, and Palmarosa. The recipe included directions to make a single dose in your diffuser or make an entire bottle.

Once you make the blend, stickers are applied to the bottle. The scent is fairly strong and floral.

Spa Day Roll-On Blend

The next recipe makes a spa blend that can be applied with a roller bottle. The scent is a combination of Tangerine and Downtime and fractionated coconut oil.

I am not sure what was the best way to fill the bottle. First, I removed the roller ball, but then I had to remove the stopper.

Like the Fresh Cut Flowers essential oil blend, this bottle had stickers.

Happy Rose Bath Powder

I didn't take pictures of the process, but this bath powder uses Tangerine and Palmarosa essential oil, almond oil, Natrasorb Bath Powder, and rose petals. You mix the ingredients, and you get a bath powder that smells incredible.

Doesn't this look pretty?

I used disposable condiment cups because it's the smallest container, close to 1 oz. I applied the sticker on top, and it works great.

Inhale Exhale Bath Salts

This recipe makes bath salt instead of bath powder, while using Palmarosa and Eucalyptus. This one is my favorite, mainly because it's made with Eucalyptus.

It doesn't look that fancy, but it smells lovely.

The sticker has a place to write the date you make the bath salt.

Summer Breeze Bath Salts

This one is another bath salt recipe using Tangerine and Downtime. The resulting smell is like a bowl of oranges at a spa. Neither of the essential oils overpowers the other.

The labels are rather slick, so I found using a Sharpie worked better than the ink pen I used on the other two labels.

Rose Sugar Scrub

The last recipe took the longest time to make, partly because I had to find a jar. I have some smaller pots from a past project, which worked great. This recipe uses solid coconut oil. I used a knife to remove the product from the recipe. You melt down the coconut oil, apply the essential oils and mix the other ingredients. By this time in my recipe-making, my husband loved all the excellent essential oil smells in the house.

Final Thought: I enjoyed making all six recipes from this month's box. There were more than enough ingredients to make everything, and all I needed to provide were containers and a cup of sugar. I can't wait to have a relaxing bath night with my new products. Subscribe and use the code BOXMOMFREE to get a $40 gift card with your first subscription box and bonus box. You can use the gift card on your next purchase or box.
