First Look
The information booklet contains an interview with Meera & Isaram, who are members of the Desert Weavers of India. They practice what's known as Kashida, which is an ancient weaving style.
Cell Phone Holder by Arti Sharma
This cell phone stand is made from babul acacia wood. This stand has two elevated panels, so you can sit your phone in the middle. This is handcrafted by Arti Sharma and measures 1.5″ H x 4.3″ W x 4.3″ D.
Lotus Art Tea Light by Tariq Khan
Designed by Tariq Khan, this tealight candle holder is created by traditional block printing. Designs like the candle holder are carved, then used as blocks to make designs on fabrics. This carving has an opening in the middle for a tealight, making it a beautiful decoration.
Adventure in Red by Desert Weavers of India
The woven bag was made by a method called pattu. The bag has striped patterns in red, blue, orange white, black and green. The bag opens at the top and holds a large amount of items. The bag is made of 100% cotton and has a cotton lining. The bag was created by UMBVS Desert Weavers of India.
Grey Elegance by Sandeep Malotra
This blanket is a slub cotton weave and comes from Sandeep Malhotra in India. There are two wide grey stripes with a woven diamond motif. The ends of the blanket has soft fringe accents. It measures 66″L x 50″W and is 100% cotton. I took this to the movie theater and it was so warm and cozy.
Haveli Gate Wrap by Vijay Singh
Artisan Vijay Singh designed and created this beautiful shawl. The shaw is decorated in the vibrant colors of Jaipur, the pink city. The scarf was created with black print leaf and floral pattern in the colors deep rose and grass green. There are also gold accents and the shawl is made of 100% cotton fabric. There are also matching beads dangling on the ends of the shawl.
