BAIANI Chocolate
Baianí chocolate is a tree-to-bar Brazilian chocolate maker. The Pinheiro has owned the company since 1973. This is one of the company’s best-selling bars that has also won awards. The bar has a great combination of chocolate and orange flavors. My husband enjoyed this bar.
Tasting notes: Zesty & Citrus
Qantu Chocolate Maple & Maras Fleur de Sel 60%
I was so surprised by the complex flavors of this chocolate bar. The bar is etched with a house. The bar is a combination of flavors to symbolize the unity of the bar’s founders. Peruvian cacao sets the stage for Quebec maple and is dusted with Fleur de Sel from Cusco, where the two met. The bar has fruity notes with maple and a bit of spice.
Tasting notes: Sweet Spices, Banana, Cinnamon & Warm Maple
Beyond Good Uganda Crispy Rice Bar
This is my favorite bar in the box. It is a classic dark chocolate bar with a slight sweetness. It also has the same type of crunch as a Nestle Crunch bar. This is the gourmet version of my favorite childhood chocolate bar.
Tasting notes: Caramel & Apricot
Ranger Expresso 74%
Coffee and chocolate come together in this bar. The bar combines some of the best coffee in Portland with 74% cocoa. I don’t drink coffee, but the blend of coffee and chocolate in this bar is quite good. There is enough espresso to add a great flavor, but it’s not too overpowering.
Tasting notes: Cream & Carmel
