Poster
As your child receives boxes, they can color in the box's icon until they complete the year.
The information guide contains the activities and details about the items in the box.
The book lays out the projects your child will complete with each box.
There were two pages of what to pack in your backpack. There were additional pages about how to pack a backpack and a family challenge to pack a backpack using the book's information.
This skill test challenges your child to build a raft with sticks and the paracord. There are also pages to teach morse code and a survival challenge.
There is a fun DIY on making a paracord key chain from the paracord in the box. Also in the book are a puzzle in the booklet and information about The Andes.
Think Outside Backpack
Backpack
This full-size backpack is perfect for the outdoors or even to go to and from school. The backpack folds up into a portable pouch. There are mesh pockets on each side that can hold water bottles.
The grey pocket inside the backpack can hold a water bladder. The main pocket is pretty large too.
The front pocket has an inside zipper pocket that can hold smaller items like those in this box.
There is a whistle that is on the clip that goes around your chest for added support.
Carabiner & Paracord
The information guide contains a challenge to use your paracord and carabiner. You also can learn to braid a paracord properly. These items will also be used in future Think Outside boxes, so be sure to keep them inside your backpack.
Metal Ring & Cards
Each month your child will get new resource cards. This month, your child will learn the morse cord, pack a backpack, and the WOODS rule for packing.
Bear Bell
This was my son's favorite item in the box. This velcros around the backpack and rings as you walk to scare other animals away.
The strap has a magnet that can attach to the bell to stop ringing when you wish. When you want it to make noise, attach the strap back up near the velcro.
Pencil
Any good outdoor adventurer needs a pencil to jot down notes and complete activities in the book.
Information Card/Geocaching
Fill out the ID card and tuck it in the appropriate pocket of the backpack. The bottom of the card gives details of an app where you can geocache.
Postcard
This is a postcard you can send to a friend to decifer.
Final Thought: This box arrived at a perfect time. This box encourages children to get outdoors, put down the technology, and learn new skills. Use the code HOLIDAY40 to get 40% off your intro box.
