First Look

Nile crocodile keychain This keychain can attach to your child's backpack or tote bag. This crocodile is super cute and friendly.

Animal Stickers Your child can stick these stickers on the included map or use them to decorate a notebook or folder.

Womple Studios: The Great Womple Migration This book has a story about a trip to Tanzania. The book is filled with pictures and colored words throughout the book. The story is really interesting and my boys enjoyed reading it.

Fold Out Map The map in the box has many sections on the other side that teach kids about the food, customs, culture, and the people. This first section is an overview of the country.

There were recipes for chai tea and ugali. Ugali is a cornmeal porridge. This looks like a simple recipe to make.

This page discusses the meaningful colors that are important to the Maasai people. There were more pages that teach about dances and The Maasai People.

Map The map unfolds and has areas to color. There are footprints in various areas of the map to show where the heards are located. The bottom of the map shows migration patterns and the right side of the map tells about national parks in the are.

The featured craft this month is making paper mache miniature Maasai Giraffe. The came with enough materials for two giraffes.

The directions include pictures and instructions for each step.

The craft came with the giraffes, tissue paper, paper cups, foam brushes, and glue.

Both of my boys had a great time making their giraffes. They both spent a good amount of time crafting their giraffes.

These are the finished giraffes. My 10-year old's giraffe is on the left and my 7 year old's is on the right. Both of my kids were really excited to check out their creations the next morning to see if they were dry.

The theme for February is “New Zealand”.

Final Thought: This box gave my kids a fun experience learning about Tanzania. My youngest loved the keychain and stickers. My oldest enjoyed exploring the map and learning about the area. They both had a great time making their giraffes. Use the coupon BOXMOM to get $5.00 off any product.
