First Look
The theme for September 2019 is “Amore”.
Palm Leaf Tortillero Flatbread Basket, Mexico $16.00 The weavers in Oaxaca are amazing and I have baskets from there all over my house. This measures 2.5″ x 8″ D and is great for handcrafted bread. This would also work well to hold napkins on your dinner table.
Marinara Sauce Spoon, Marocco $25.00 At first, I thought this was a spoon rest. This measures 10.5″ and can be used to make marinara sauce. This is hand-painted, handcrafted and should be hand washed only. I love the beautiful details of the paint.
Spice Grinder – Camp Garden Herbs, South Africa $12.00 This blend is from South Africa and is made of sea salt, white pepper, rosemary, green peppercorns, basil, oregano, and sage. You can put this on bread, scones, and muffins. The company Ukuva iAfrica means “The sense of Africa”. The peppercorns in this herb blend are from fair trade producers.
Bicycle Pizza Cutter, India $20.00 This bicycle pizza cutter is just the cutest thing. It has two pizza wheels that are forged by hand by Dilshad. I can't wait to have a homemade pizza night and use this.
Personal Pizza Board, Thailand $40.00 This pizza board measures 8″ board, 12″ with handle and is Acacia wood. I love handmade wooden items. This is a great piece to service your handmade pizza or some bread. The handle has a rope on the end of the handle, so you can hang this in your kitchen.
Final Thought: This box had a total value of $113.00. GlobeIn is a fantastic subscription and I love the hand made items each month. I didn't take a picture of it, but the back of the information guide had a recipe for mushroom, mozzarella, and truffle pizza. I can't wait to make it, it sounds great.
