First Look
Every box comes with an information guide. They have changed the information guide to a larger format with full-color pictures. You receive detailed information about every item in the box, along with information about the artisans who make the items.
Sana Noodle Bowl, Tunisia $40.00 Some of my favorite items in my GlobeIn boxes are items for my home. This large bowl measures 8″ by 4″ and is made of stoneware ceramic. It's hand-painted, but you can put it in the dishwasher. There is a hole in one side and a curved part on the other side, designed to hold chopsticks. The bowl was painted and glazed by more than 7 different artisans.
Hand-carved Elephant Chopsticks, Kenya $15.00 I am not particularly savvy at chopsticks, but I love these. They are made of Jacaranda wood and the ends are hand carved as elephant heads. GlobeIn featured James Musau, who has worked at carving wood for 13 years and is counting on the money from GlobeIn to help his family.
Sana Sauce Dish, Tunisia $12.00 The sauce bowl as crafted just like the bowl. The artisans work for Le Souk Ceramics, who help artisans have stable work and sell their products. The bowl is 4″ by 4″ and can be used for sauce, or small trinkets.
Amapola Handwoven Blue Basket, Mexico $15.00 I use these woven baskets all over my house. I use one to hold toilet paper in my bathroom, some for toys, others to hold remotes and I use some to give as gifts. They are a well-made basket and I love finding new uses for them around my house.
Fair Trade Forbidden Rice® Ramen, China $3.50 Since there was a bowl, chopsticks, and sauce bowl, it makes sense that there was a food item included. This rice ramen is organic, whole grain, vegan, non-gmo, and is made for one person.
Final Thought: This box had a total value of $85.50. The large bowl was my favorite item in the box. I use many of my GlobeIn dishes and bowls in my weekly dinners.
