Book of the Month March 2019 Review

Book of the Month is a book subscription box that sends a brand new book for as low as $10.47/month.
On the first of the month, you log into your account and choose between five different books, picked out by Book of the Month Judges.  There are authors, editors and more on the judging panel.  There is also one guest judge each month.  You must make your selections by the 14th, or Book of the Month will pick for you.  If you don't like any of the books, you can skip!

Once you make your book selection, you can add up to two books to your account for $9.99/each.  Once you get your book, you can log into your account and join the discussions.

Cost: $16.99/month, $14.99/month for a 3 month subscription and $11.99/month for a 1 year subscription.

First Look

When you receive your book, it will be wrapped in plastic with a cardboard piece and there is a bookmark. Each book is wrapped in plastic and packaged on a larger cardboard card.

Before She Knew Him by Peter Swanson Hen suffers from bipolar disorder and finally has it under control. She lives a peaceful life with her husband. When Hen meets the neighbor, she sees a sports trophy that went missing when someone was murdered. Hen becomes obsessed with the neighbor and eventually come face to face with her neighbor. Each book comes with a bookmark.

The Municipalists by Seth Fried

The Municipalists by Seth Fried This story takes place in Metropolis, where there is a terrorist plot that threatens the city.  Henry Thompson and OWEN are in charge with saving the city.

Lot by Bryan Washington This book is about a man growing up with a black mother and Latino father. He works at his family's restaurant and has relalized he likes boys. The book talks about this man's life and the life of the community.

Daisy Jones & The Six by Taylor Jenkins Reid

Daisy Jones & The Six by Taylor Jenkins Reid This book is Reese Witherspoon's new book club pick. It's about a 15 year old girl named Daisy who is a wild child, but a talented singer. She is introduced to Billy Dunne, who is the lead singer of The Six. Billy finds out right before he is going on tour that his wife is pregnant. He going on on tour any goes a bit wild. When a producer joins Billy and Daisy, he gets them together to make a fantastic band.

Queenie by Candice Carty-Williams

Queenie by Candice Carty-Williams Queenie is a 25-year-old Jamaican British woman who works with middle-class white people. Queenie breaks up with her boyfriend and ends up finding love in all the wrong men. Queenie then seeks out to find out who she is and what she wants.

Book of the Month March 2019 Review
