First Look
The theme for September is “Fun in the Sun”.
When you open the booklet, there is a list of all the products in the box and destinations you should visit.
This month they featured:
- Starved Rock State park, Illinois
- Black Hills, South Dakota
- Mt. St Helens National Park, Washington.
Parks Project Trail Crew Booney Hat $28.00 I couldn't find this hat online, so I used the price of the other hat. It's made of 100% water-resistant nylon to keep any moisture away from your head and keep you dry. The material is very soft and it comes with an adjustable drawstring. When I saw this in the box, I planned to take it on my next trip, but it's too small. I have a larger than average head for a woman, so I gave it to my husband to try. He has an average head for a man, and it's also too small for him. I am going to see if one of my boys will wear it.
Pura Youth On-The Go Cooler This isn't listed for sale on Pura Youth's website, but it's shown in one of the photos. This little cooler is just the right size for lunch. It has an insulated open compartment with a pocket in the front. It's not super thick, but it is insulated, collapsible and leak-proof. While this tote is nice, I am surprised they chose a rectangular cooler for the box. A tote/bag type cooler might fit better in a backpack. This would be a nice item to use to take food to the beach or pool.
Amavara SPF 50 Face Stick Screen This is a sample size tube of sunscreen, so I didn't get a retail price of the sunscreen. This is 100$ non-nano zinc oxide and is designed not to run, irritate eyes, or leave a white residue. It's pediatrician-tested, paraben free, vegan, cruelty-free, and reef safe.
Amavara SPF 30 Body Lotion and Amavara Mini-Tube Body Lotion SPF 50 These foil packets of lotion are in 30 and 50 spf. These can be used even on sensitive skin. There is not much in the pack, so I will try it out on my face or arms.
Yumbutter Inergey Pouch $2.50 It's great to have snacks you can just grab and enjoy. This pouch contains almond butter, with maca, yerba mate and coconut oil. This would be great keep in your backpack or purse for a healthy snack.
Final Thought: I couldn't get a value of all the items in the box, the value was over the cost of the box. While this box did meet the value, I was disappointed in the box. The would've been my favorite item in the box, but it was too small. I look forward to the September box and hopefully, it will be back to the awesome box I am used to.
