Learning Crate October 2018 Review

Learning Crate is an educational subscription for children Kindergarten through sixth grade. Boxes are $24.99 and include a personalized box of 7 to 10 items in the box. When you sign up, you will fill out a survey about your child's interests. You can fill out specific subjects that your child is interested in and their hobbies. There are also boxes to give more details about your child.

First Look

Each box comes with a bookmark and information about the subscription. If you review your box on Cratejoy, they will send you a free gift in your next box.

The box came with a sports-themed pencil, 6 erasers and a pencil sharpener.

I Represent Sean Rosen Paperback by Jeff Baron $6.99 Sean Rosen wants to be famous. He makes funny videos online and wants to do a movie too. Even though he doesn't live near LA, he is going to use his computer to try to make it big. If you look up Sean Rosen on the internet, you can find some videos he has done.

Who Was Steve Jobs? Paperback by Pam Pollack $5.99 My son has read several of the “Who was” books, so I know he will enjoy this one. This tells the story of Steve Jobs, and as a bonus, it qualifies as an AR book.

What Came Before the Big Bang?: And 50 More Science Questions to Blow Your Mind Paperback by Simon Holland $12.38 This is my son's favorite book in the box. It has answers for all kinds of weird and interesting things. My son even took it to school today to read.

Marsh Road Mysteries: Diamonds and Daggers by Elen Caldcott $10.41 Betty Massino comes to the theater, but when her diamond necklace is stolen, we have to figure out what happened.

The High Score and Lowdown on Video Games! (History of Fun Stuff) by Stephen Krensky $3.99 This quick read gives kids the history of video games. I was interested in the book, so I decided to read it myself. I found it quite interesting and a well-made book.

The League of Beastly Dreadfuls Book 2: The Dastardly Deed Paperback by Holly Grant $11.89 This book is great for Harry Potter fans. Anastasia, Ollie, and Quentin (aka the League of Beastly Dreadfuls!) find out that their family is at war with witches. Now the group has to track down their grandfather, who has been kidnapped.

Final Thought: This box had a total value of $51.65, and that's using Amazon prices. My son loves this box and usually grabs 3 of the books to take to school each day.
