First Look
Every box comes with an information guide. You receive detailed information about every item in the box, along with information about the artisans who make the items.
Wood & Glass Canister, India $15.00 I enjoy getting glass products in my subscription boxes. You can use this for olive oil, small candies or even toothpicks. The lid easily removes and is made of wood.
Ceramic Olive Boat, Tunisia $25.00 Le Souk Ceramique is a pottery based company based out of Tunisia. Like all their other products, this is hand painted. Abir Moussi is one of the artisans at Le Souk and has been able to help her three sisters get out of poverty due to her job. I can barely paint by number, so I have a great appreciation for the artistry it took to make this boat. I don't eat olives, so I think I am going to use this for a various assortment of berries.
Swirl Olive Spoon, India $10.00 It's a chocolate milk spoon! This spoon is made of stainless steel and has been welded in India. I love the twist handle on the spoon, and it's long enough to make chocolate milk in a tall glass.
Palm Leaf Placemat Set, Mexico $15.00 These placemats are made by the weavers in Oaxaca. Each placemat is handwoven. These are not as rough as many woven placements and I like the round shape.
Tatreez Napkin Ring Set, Palestinian Territories $10.00 At first glance, I thought these were bracelets, but they are napkin rings. Each of these rings is made using tatreeze, which is a Palestinian embroidery technique. While making these napkin rings helps people earn an income, it's also an important part of Palestinian identity.
Tatreez Napkin Ring Set, Palestinian Territories $10.00 GlobeIn included two cloth napkins in the box that are made with block printing. These are beautifully made, though they probably won't get much use with two kids.
The napkin rings look great with the napkins.
Final Thought: This box has a total value of $70.00! My favorite GlobeIn boxes are the ones that include products that I can use in everyday life. The olive boat and spoon will probably get the most use. You can save $10.00 on your first box of any subscription, PLUS get a FREE mug, just use coupon SAVE10FREEMUG.
