First Look
The theme for July is “The Mermaid Jewel!”.
Each box comes with a new story. When you get to a red brick, you stop and build the challenge build. This month, the story is
If you want to skip the story, there is a breakdown of the projects on a card.
Challenge #1 Using the Spotlight Piece and up to 15 pieces other pieces, help Leah and Logan navigate the seas.
We used one of the rotating pieces from this box, along with the Spotlight Piece to build a cool compass. My kids had a fun time working on this one.
Challenge #2 This one is always the hardest. While wearing a blindfold, build a flashlight.
So, we cheated a little bit on this one. The pieces were dumped out first, so we saw that there was a yellow one for the light. The entire piece was built wearing a blindfold and it wasn't easy.
Challenge #3 Build a pirate hat to disguise the twins.
My 9-year-old did this one himself. This is an interesting take on a pirate hat.
Challenge #4 I personally love the minifigure build. This month, we have to make a pirate captain.
Since there is not an actual pirate hat, this black hat will have to do. Every pirate needs a weapon and some binoculars.
Challenge #5 The biggest challenge in the box was to build a pirate ship.
My oldest spent a good amount of time on this build. I think it turned out fantastic and it's already on display.
Final Thought: Our family loves pirates, so we enjoyed the pirate theme of this box. We always complete this box as a family and everyone has fun. I like that this box encourages kids to use their imagination. You can check Booster Bricks at this link.
