Book of the Month August 2018 Review + Free Book

Book of the Month is a book subscription box that sends a brand new book for as low as $10.47/month.
On the first of the month, you log into your account and choose between five different books, picked out by Book of the Month Judges. There are authors, editors and more on the judging panel. There is also one guest judge each month. You must make your selections by the 14th, or Book of the Month will pick for you. If you don't like any of the books, you can skip!
Once you make your book selection, you can add up to two books to your account for $9.99/each. Once you get your book, you can log into your account and join the discussions.

I received all the August books for review, but I didn't take a picture of that box. When you receive your subscription, you will get your book in a blue box. Mine was smashed a bit from the other books in the the box.
First Look
Each book is wrapped in plastic and packaged on a larger cardboard card.
The Dinner List by Rebecca Serle This book explores thatfamous question, “If you could invite 5 people, living or dread to a dinner party, who would you invite?” Sabrina arrives at her 30th birthday dinner and there are 6 people at the party: her best friend, 3 important people from her past and Audrey Hepburn. The story follows why these people are all at the table together. This book doesn't get released to the public till September 11th!
The Air You Breathe by Frances de Pontes Peebles This book is loosly based on the lives of Carmen Miranda and lesbian songwriter Chavela Vargas. The book starts with two girls (Dores and Graça) from different lives, growing up on the same plantation in Brazil. They both have a love for music and end up making it all the way to Hollywood. This book explores not only their love for music, but their friendship as well.
Sweet Little Lies by Caz Frear Cat Kinsella is a detective with the police force, after overcoming a troubled childhood. She investigates a murder that ends up being connected to a disappearce of a girl years ago. Cat has to investigate her estranged father and have to figure out if he is responsible.
The Line That Held Us by David Joy.This story is about love and revenge. Darl Moody goes hunting and accidentally kills someone digging ginseng. The family of the killed man tracks the clues back to Darl. What will happen when Dwayne Brewer finds out who killed his brother?
Goodbye, Paris by Anstey Harris Grace was a very tallented celloist, but she had a tramatic incident in college and gave it up. Since then, she has a quite life and has a long distance affair with David. When David saves a woman on the metro and becomes famous, his relationship with Grace falls apart. Grace has to rely on her friends to help her put herself back together.
