First Look

Booster Bricks June 2018 Review

The theme for June is “Figland's Founder's Day!”.

Each box comes with a new story. When you get to a red brick, you stop and build the challenge build. This month, the story is the town of Figland and their Founder's Day celebration.

There was a card that explained all the challenges in the box if you didn't want to read the story. There was also a sticker.

Challenge #1

Challenge #1

Challenge #1 Using the mini figure in the box, build the leader of Figland. My 9-year-old put this guy together, complete with the backward baseball hat.

Challenge #2

Challenge #2

Challenge #2 This challenge uses the spotlight piece, plus 15 other pieces to create a currency. The orange blocks on the builds indicate the denomination. The four-piece build is the dollar, two-piece build is a half, and the smaller is a penny.

Challenge #3

Challenge #3

Challenge #3 The 3rd challenge was to take the pieces provided and create a boombox. My 9 year old doesn't know what the 80's boomboxes look like, so he created his own.

Challenge #4

Challenge #4

Challenge #4 The blindfold challenge is always the hardest. My husband completed this challenge, as my kids didn't want to be blindfolded.  The blindfold challenge was to build an engagement ring. My husband always nails this challenge.

Challenge #5

Challenge #5

Challenge #5 The 5th challenge was to take the pieces provided and create a Gru Gru Bird Monument. I think my son did a great job on this one. It really looks like a bird!

Final Thought: If your child loves LEGOs, this is a great box to try out. The box comes with several different LEGO bricks, so once the box is done, there are several pieces to add to your collection. I like that this encourages kids to use their imagination. You can check Booster Bricks at this link.
