The Hippie Hobby Box June 2018 Review

First Look
The project for this box is “Macrame Plant Hanger”. All the instructions are found online. This month, the instructions were in a video, instead of typed out. I have included the video in this review for reference.
There were two containers in the box. These hold the plants (not included).
The macrame plant hanger is mainly made with this twine. This craft is made with a series of knots. You create a basket for the little plastic pots.
Twine by itself can be a bit boring, so there were beads included. The green wire is to help thread the beads onto the twine. The two metal loops are used as the hangers for the craft.
I had to watch the video a couple times before I got started, just so I could have a good idea what to do. The first step is to cut four, 60″ pieces of twine. You fold these in half then loop all four pieces through the metal loop.
Once all the pieces are looped through, you separate the twine into groups of two pieces, then tie a know a bit down from the metal loop. Each group of two strands is knotted at the same point.
Once the first row is made, you make two more rows of knots, each time separating the threads and tying them to other strands.
Once you are done with the third row of knots, you tie a knot at the bottom, to keep the pot in place. Once the knot is in place, you add the beads for decoration.
This is the finished macrame plant hanger. This really turned out rather well. I wish the decorations included how far down to make each set of knots.
Final Thought: This was a fun project. When I first watched the video, I was a bit intimidated by the project. It ended up being fun, and the finished piece looks pretty cute. There are enough materials in the box to make one more hanger, I just haven't completed it yet.
