Sensory TheraPlay Box is a subscription box filled with sensory toys for kids.  Boxes are $39.95/month and come with 5-8 sensory toys/ items in each box. Items are designed for kids on the autism spectrum or who have sensory processing needs.  Items are chosen to encourage the development of important sensory motor skills and are calming/ therapeutic. An Occupational Therapist selects all items, so you know the toys will be appropriate!

First Look

The information card is now in the form of a brochure.

The brochure unfolds to reveal pictures and descriptions of everything in the box.

Spike Fij-It These fidget comes in two pieces and can be rubbed together on the spiky side to make a fun noise, or rubbed easily on the smooth side. The spikes are very soft, so they feel great when rubbed over your skin.

Squishy Mesh Ball This is so fun, even I have been playing with it. You keep the ball in the black mesh and then squeeze. When you squeeze, the green ball comes through the mesh and turns blue. This can break if played with too roughly, so be sure to encourage your child not to bit the ball.

My 6-year-old loves this thing. It's so much fun to play with.

Chew Stixx Tough Bar $10.99 This is a safe toy for kids who tend to chew on their fingers, shirts or nails. It's an FDA approved device and it's very durable. The end has various little bumps that can be used as a hand fidget as well.

The Original Crazy Foam This is a 3 in 1 spray foam your child can use as a body wash, shampoo, and conditioner. If you child doesn't like bath time or struggles with bathing, this would be a nice soap. You can also put this in a pan and then your child can practice tracing site words.

LakiKid bands These bands go around the bottom two legs of a chair, then your child can use it to bounce their feet on or rock their feet against. This could be a nice tool to use at school, so they won't disrupt the class and can stay on task. Two were included in the box so one can be used at school, and the other kept at home. These are easily washable too.

Melissa & Doug Suspend Jr $16.99 This is a balancing game that is much harder than it looks. You set up the stand and put the white piece on. Each person gets the same number of colored pieces.  When it's your turn, you spin the wheel and place that color on another stick. You can only hang one piece on one other piece (no balancing on two or more). If a piece falls, you have to put those pieces in your pile. The person who gets rid of all their pieces first is the winner. My 6-year-old and I played first, then our whole family played. You have to have a good sense of balancing and a steady hand.

This is one of the games. It's much hard with only two people because you have that many more pieces to hang.

There were a couple of coupons and a disclaimer. The disclaimer was a new addition to this month's box. Basically, it says to watch your kids and don't hold the box responsible if they get hurt.

Final Thought: This box had a total value of $59.94, which is a nice value. My son loves the game, mesh ball, and the fidget. My son hasn't used the soap yet, but I am sure he will love that too. You can use the coupon welcome to save 10% on your subscription.
