First Look
The theme for April is “The Recycle Hero!”.
Each box comes with a new story. When you get to a red brick, you stop and build the challenge build. This month, the story is about a storm that blows through the city and spreads trash all over the town.
There was a card that explained all the challenges in the box, if you didn't want to read the story. There were also two stickers.
Challenge #1 Using the mini figure in the box, build Pip, the recycling superhero's sidekick.
Challenge #2 Using the pieces in the premier challenge pack, build a garbage truck. This truck sorts garbage from recycling. Wheels were not included in the pack, so some creativity was in order. My 6-year-old created this build. The trash goes up through the brown piece and is then sorted into the brick pieces.
Challenge #3 The 3rd challenge was to take the pieces provided and create a litterbug. These bugs were taking over the city. This bug has a long green neck with a purple head.
Challenge #4 This challenge uses the spotlight piece, plus 15 other pieces to create a gadget. My son built a trash collecting gadget. The spotlight piece is at the very bottom of the build, and the trash is collected from the yellow piece.
Challenge #5 The last build was the hardest, the blindfold challenge. My husband completed this challenge, as my 6-year-old didn't want to be blindfolded. My husband did an outstanding job at building goggles.
Final Thought: This box is so much fun for our whole family. The box comes with several different LEGO bricks, so once the box is done, there are several pieces to add to your collection. I like that this encourages kids to use their imagination. You can check Booster Bricks at this link.
