GlobeIn ships in a large green box.
First Look. Anything breakable in the box is always wrapped in several layers of bubble wrap.
The information guide always gives details about everything in the box, along with details about the artisan.
Ceramic Yarn Bowl, Tunisia, 5” $25.00 This beautiful bowel is handmade in Tunisia through Le Souk Ceramique. The three holes in the bowl are designed to hold your yarn as you craft. This bowl helps keep your yarn in one place.
I love the vibrant blue color of this bowl. I don't craft with yarn in any way, but I would love to find a use for this.
Yarn Ball, India, 100 gms of yarn, 4″ diameter $12.00 Since this box was called DIY, GlobeIn wanted to give you materials to use right away. This yarn was made from recycled Indian saris.
I love the colors of this yard. It would make a great hat or scarf. My husband learned to crochet on a bet once, so maybe he will remember enough to make something out of this.
Scrapbook Paper, India, Assorted Colors $12.00 I used to scrapbook all the time, before kids and subscription boxes. I actually still have all my supplies. This scrapbooking paper comes from India and is made from 100% recycled cotton. I like that GlobeIn chooses products that are upcycled or recycled. This paper wis made from recycled scraps from the textile industry. A wheel press is used to break down the fibers, then the material is soaked to make a pulp. The pulp is strained, then made into sheets. My kids and I have made paper before, but nothing this beautiful.
Tassel Set, India, 1-2″ drop $12.00 These brightly colored tassels are begging to be used. I have already hung one on my ceiling fan chain and plan to make a couple of bookmarks. Each of these are hand tied and produced through Matr Boomie. Globein also recommended using these for garland or keychains.
Palm Leaf Flat Basket, Mexico, 8″ x 4.5″ $15.00 GlobeIn is known for including hand woven baskets in their boxes. This one is a new style and I really love it. This was made in Oaxaca, Mexico, which is an area where many people weave with palm leaves.
This basket is quite large and can hold a good amount of items. GlobeIn recommends using it for your yarn or other supplies. I think I am going to use it in on my desk to hold a few tools.
Final Thought: This box had a total value of $76.00. I like getting beautiful new items from all around the world. The bowl and basket were my favorite items this month. You can save $10.00 on your first box of any subscription, PLUS get a FREE mug, just use coupon SAVE10FREEMUG.
