First Look

The theme for January is “Friendship” and ties back to scripture with John 15:13 when Jesus said “Greater love has no one than this, to lay down one's life for one's friends.”

Just Show Up: The Dance of Walking through Suffering Together by Kara Tippets $8.66 This is a book about friendship, specifically how friendships look during all stages of life.

Summary: Kara Tippetts’s story was not a story of disease, although she lost her battle with terminal cancer. It was not a story of saying goodbye, although she was intentional in her time with her husband and four children. Kara’s story was one of seeing God in the hard and in the good. It was one of finding grace in the everyday. And it was one of knowing “God with us” through fierce and beautiful friendship.

Never Unfriended Perpetual Calender $10.99 This Calender doesn't include the year, so you can use this year after year. Each day, there is a new inspiring quote about friendship. I really liked the inspiration from January 22nd. The true friendships, the ones that are worth it are hard work. You have to be there for each other through anything.

Stick a Prayer Anywhere $11.06 These sticky notes fold out to reveal three different packs. You can write your prayers on them and stick them wherever you want. I think there would be really good for kids. They can write their prayers on each note, then stick them to their bed. Each night they can review the notes to make sure they pray for all the things they want.

Battles CD by Rita Springer $9.99 Each box comes with a new cd. I like listening to Christian music when I'm driving in my car. This cd has 11 different tracks and some really great music. My favorite songs are Defender and Every Battle.

Colors of Compassion Card Pack $12.97 This pack has 10 different greeting cards, ranging from birthdays, to thank yous and encouragement. I love getting new card packs each month. I keep so well stocked with cards, I hardly ever have to buy any.

Bette's Box of Blessings January 2018 Review
