I really hate taking my kids clothing shopping and I am often busy to shop online, so I was excited to try this out. For my review, I filled out a profile for my 5 year old.
Mac & Mia shipped in a white polka dot box.
First Look. The box was packed with clothes.
The envelope on top of the box came with a return bag for the clothes you don't purchase, paper dolls and the information guide for you clothes.
The information card listed everything in the box, the price and the rating scale at the bottom. The total cost of my box is $325.00. I would save an additional $48.75 if I keep everything. The back of the information guide had return instructions. Basically put your clothes in the bag within 5 days and mail it back.
Buho Daniel Racoon Sweatshirt $54.00 This sweatshirt is roomy and features a racoon on the front. This piece is actually my least favorite item in the box, mainly because of the price. The style of the sweatshirt is more unique than typical sweatshirts, so it's unique. The really bad thing about this sweatshirt, is it's dry clean only. Who dry cleans sweatshirts for kids?
Kapital K Fish Tee $24.00 I found Kapital K in a boutique store and I really love the brand. This shirt has a variety of fish and a cute little pocket. The material is a thicker cotton/polly blend. This brand fits well and has a nice stretch. I have also found this brand holds up to several washings.
Hatley Athletic Mock Neck Pullover $48.00 Okay, so this piece is also expensive, but it has many more details than the sweatshirt. The sleeves have nice cuffs and one sleeve has a little orange patch. There are pockets in the front and a bit of distressing where the sleeves meet the jacket. This is a great piece for fall mornings.
Bitz Kids Motorbike Tee $36.00 This long sleeve shirt has a rayon/cotton blend that has a similar feel to the fish shirt. This is a good shirt for school. My son loves comfortable, moveable clothing, so this one is a win.
Nano Stripe Tee $30.00 This shirt is one of my favorite pieces in the box and was something I had to keep. The shirt is so soft, I would love to have this in my size. There is a small pocket on the sleeve and I like the mix of fabrics. This is also very different from anything we find in store locally.
Nano Knit Jogger $36.00 This pair of pants is made by the same company who made the black and white shirt. This pair is comfortable too and I like the shape of the pockets. This are a bit more tailored than a regular pair of knit pants.
Beru Kids Arthur Pants $54.00 This is the other really expensive item in the box. The pants are pretty unique both in pattern and style, but I wish the drawstring was real. These would be quite warm in the cooler fall/winter months. I am just not sure how much I like them.
CarlijnQ Happy Panther Socks $10.00 There is often a piece or two of socks, hats and other accessories in the box. These little socks are cute, have pleasing colors and would go with a variety of outfits.
Apparman Rocky Hat $33.00 When I first saw this hat, I thought it was a regular ski cap. While it's not super fancy, it's really soft and stretchy. Many ski caps can be quite scratchy. I have tried and failed to get my 5 year old to wear a hat, but he hats them. He did wear this around the house and likes it, so this item in a keeper.
Final Thought: I really enjoyed our Mac & Mia box. There were may super cute items and it will be hard to make a decision on what to keep. You can buy what you want, and return the rest without hassle. I love shopping for my kids online and styling services for kids make it even easier. Your child can also try clothing on as they feel like it, and not have to struggle in the dressing room. Use this link and get a $20 credit to use toward your clothing purchases. The styling fee is $20, so this is like trying the box free! Note: If you buy 2 or more items, you will get your styling fee back too!
