Treats arrives in a pretty teal box.
All the snacks were wrapped in tissue paper and sealed with a sticker.
First Look. There were so many brightly colored snacks in the box. It was a very inviting box.
There is always a colorful postcard in the box with the new travel destination. This month, Treats traveled to Italy.
The information card has details about each snack in the box.
Keogh's Shamrock and Sourcream Chips These chips are hand cooked chips and are in the flavor shamrock and sour cream. I am guessing the shamrock is “green onion”. These are also have some milk, cheese and rapeseed oil in them. They have a cheesy/oily, (not greasy), sour cream and onion taste. These were fantastic.
O'Donnells Hickory BBQ Crisps These chips are hand cooked and have the texture that's cross between a Lay's potato chip and a kettle chip. They are gluten free and have a hickory BBQ flavor. They are made with sunflower oil and are vegetarian friendly.
Tayto Cheese & Onion Chips These chips are very similar to the Lay's cheese and onion chips, only with more onion. The little cartoon character is Mr. Tayto, a cultural icon in the Irish Republic. He is also the theme of Ireland's only amusement park.
Jacob's Marietta Biscuits I really wasn't expected to like these. I thought they might be a bit dry. These ended up being a family favorite. They are a thin cookie that tastes similar to an animal cracker.
KP Hula Hoops These are little round chips that taste like the classic Pringles, but are much harder to eat. I did enjoy them, they had a very “potato” flavor.
Bolands Custard Creams These vanilla cookies have a sweet cream in the middle. They taste great and were very sweet. I have already ate too many. These are recommended to be enjoyed with tea.
Jacob's Twiglets These are pretzel sticks that are coated with a peppery yeast seasoning. This was the one snack I didn't care for. The flavoring was a bit bitter and tasted like the pretzels were burnt.
Cadbury Crunchie Cadbury is a very popular company in Europe. This treat has an orange honeycomb center, a honey caramel filling and is coated with milk chocolate. This reminded me a bit of a Butterfinger bar, only better.
Jacob's Bourbon Creams These chocolate cookies have a chocolate cream in the middle with a slight flavor of bourbon. I really didn't taste the bourbon, but I really enjoyed the chocolate cookie taste.
Cadbury Flake This is also by Cadburry, and is a milk chocolate bar, made of folded chocolate. It has an interesting texture, but a sweet, milk chocolate flavor.
Final Thought: This was an awesome box. I am a rather picky eater and there was only one snack I didn't care for. I love salt, so I really enjoyed all the chips in the box.
