First Look. I received the “Movie Night”.
The information card has a picture of the finished product. The card has a list of all the ingredients you need for the recipe. Greek yogurt, eggs and butter were the only added ingredients you need. You only need some pretty basic kitchen tools, even this non-baker had them.
The other side of the card had tips and tricks to complete the project.
The dry ingredients were the baking mix and the icing mix.
The small vegan marshmallows make the look of popcorn on the cupcakes.
The “popcorn salt or butter” is a packet of yellow sugar, and it's also dye free!
The cupcakes bake in these cute popcorn containers. There were 6 in the box.
This is a look at everything in the box.
Foodstir's description of the Movie Night Kit “Movie night isn’t complete without delicious popcorn, but we have some movie night ideas that will satisfy your sweet tooth as well! Our popcorn vanilla cupcake kit features bite size marshmallows topped with dye free sparkling sugar.
Upgrade your standard movie night snacks from boring to delicious! Our organic ingredients and fun dessert kits will help you create the best movie snacks you've ever had!”
My 5 year old helped make the cupcakes. The recipe was easy to follow and so much fun to do with my son.
You bake the cupcakes to the halfway point in the cups, and then add the topping.
All six popcorn cupcakes!
I will note, I don't bake….ever! I actually can't remember the last time I baked cupcakes or a cake, so I was a bit nervous with this subscription. I make one mistake during the process, but it was easily fixed and everything turned out well. I did these with my 5 year old and we both had a blast.
Final Thoughts: My son and I really had a fund time with Foodstirs. If I can compete this kit, anyone can. Since I never bake, getting a subscription like this is fun. It gives me just the amount of ingredients I need, without having huge bags of flour that will go bad. Having all the ingredients pre-packaged also made it easier to cook with a small child.
