First Look
The box was a pretty pink box.
Everything was properly packaged in the box.
The information card has a list of everything in the box.
The back of the information card had the menu and travel plan for the box. Three different countries are featured in this box: France, Italy and Thailand.
The Menu:
- Appetizers (France)
- Croquet Crackers with Black Olive Tapenade and Apple Jelly.
- Entrèe (Italy)
- Casarecce with Black Truffle Cream and Edible Rose Petals
- Dessert (Thailand)
- Mango Sticky Rice with Dried Tamarind
Black Olive Tapenade – France This is a mix of capers, black olives and anchovy paste, made by Délices du Luberon. There are a number of ways to use this, but Try the World included pared it with crackers.
Croquet Crackers – France These are all natural crackers, made with pistachios and they have a great seasoned flavored.
Apple Jelly with Espellette Pepper – France I was really excited to see this. My friends and I love this red pepper jelly cream cheese appetizer, so I know this will taste great. This jam was made the traditional way of cooking in a copper cauldron. Try the World recommends putting this on brie.
Casarecce Pasta – Italy This is a free form pasta, that is made of durum wheat semolia pasta. Our family loves pasta, so we are always happy to try a new kind.
Black Truffle Sauce – Italy The truffles for this sauce come from the cold northern forests of Tuscany. This sauce will be added to the pasta as a sauce.
Edible Flower Petals – Italy These are real dried flower petals that can be added to roasted meat or sweet pudding.
Sticky Rice – Thailand This is a very easy dish to prepare. Just heat the coconut milk, milk and mix. This is a popular dessert in Thailand.
Dried Tamarind – Thailand I have had tamarind candy, but never actual dried tamarind. This tamarind is coated in brown sugar and Thai spices. They are described of being savory, sweet and sour.
