Try the World shipped their Holiday Box in a large box.
First Look
The Holiday Box was in a beautiful red color with gold flowers on top.
There was an information card on the inside lid.
The information card has pictures and descriptions of every treat in the box.
The back of the card has recipes for everything in the box.
Shortbread Sprucewood Handmade Cookie Co Canada It's no secret I love shortbread and Sprucewood knows how to do it right. Sprucewood specializing in shortbread year round. These cookies were crunch traditional shortbread with the added sweetness of maple syrup. These are free from hydrogenated or tropical oils, trans fat, and artificial flavorings. Spucewood recommends trying these with some red pepper jelly, yum!
K'ekua Hot Chocolate Tablets Mexico This is a huge chocolate tablet that dissolves in warm milk or coffee. This has the right amount of sweet and bitter flavors for a tasty drink. Side note, always read the information card first, or you might take a bite of a “cookie”, that's really a tablet.
Fox Gourmet Lemon Curd United Kingdom In the late 19th century, this was served to guest that visited for tea. It's still made the old-fashioned way, on open pans. This tastes almost identical to the filling in a lemon meringue pie. I tried these with the shortbread cookies and it was a fabulous combination.
Giuliana Tartufi Truffle Sauce Italy This company was started in 1980. This was a perfect addition to our steaks this week. It has that mushroom-like taste with mixed a garlic sauce. Incredibly tasty!
Yoffi Date Spread Israel Yoffi grows their dates on a community farm, giving the community jobs. Dates are a symbol of good luck, so they are pretty popular in Israel. This had a very typical date taste and was perfect on toast.
Darling Sweet Toffee South Africa These toffee treats (not caramels) are made with butter from Darling. The wrappers are recycled and biodegradable, making these treats tasty and eco-friendly. One of these candies really lasts a long time and had a great flavor.
Marlette Pain D'Epices Baking Mix France This is the only item in the box I haven't tasted yet. This is a spiced bread that is very popular during the holidays. It will make a great surprise gift for one of my friends.
En Luen Pineapple Cake Taiwan These little cakes are individually wrapped, which is awesome if you can resist eating them all in one sitting. Each cake is filled with a pineapple jam. The cake was moist and these were easily my favorite snack in the box.
Final Thought: This box was easily my favorite box from Try the World. I am a pretty picky eater and I personally loved everything this box (well, haven't tried the bread yet). This would make an amazing gift for someone, even yourself. Until December 2, you can get 3 boxes for less than the cost of 1! Buy the Holiday Box, get the Portugal and Brazil Boxes FREE, plus use the coupon SBMOM15 to save 15%. That's $33.15 for 3 boxes!
