First Look
GlobeIn includes a detailed guide about all the products in the box.
GlobeIn Greeting Card $3.00 There was a little greeting card included in this month's box, that you can give to someone you care about. The card says “A house is made of brick & stone. A home is made of love alone.” This would make a great housewarming card.
Ceramic Cup+ Saucer, India $12.00 This was created in Khurja “Ceramics City” by one of 50 local artists through The Village Experience. GlobeIn featured Rajesh, who didn't finish 10th grade and went from job to job before finding ceramics. This is a beautiful set and I love the hand panted detailing on the cup and saucer.
Equal Exchange Tea (Rooibos or Green), India/South Africa $5.00 This tea was sent out in two different varieties and is made through Equal Exchange. Equal Exchange invests in independent farmers, instead of supporting plantations. My husband enjoys a nice cup of tea every so often and so I know he will drink this.
Hand-Painted Pyramid Candle Set, South Africa $16.00 These are beautiful candles, made through Nobunto. Nobunto employs disadvantaged women and helps them use their creativity to have a lasting income. The detail of these candle sticks are quite amazing. I am always in awe as I unbox GlobeIn, due to all the beautiful craftsmanship.
Woven Cotton Throw, India $30.00 This woven blanket is made in Karur through Piece & Co. Piece & Co works with local women to bring their traditional skills to the world and give them a regular source of income. This blanket is made of yarn women from recycled cotton scraps.
The edge of the blanket has a beautiful white fringe.
Handwoven Palm Leaf Basket, Mexico $12.00 This woven baskets are a featured product from GlobeIn. You can use these for a variety of things: toy storage, kitchen tools, presents and more.
Final Thought: This basket had a total value of $78.00. I love the blanket, because it is huge and just so soft. The candles are so pretty and detailed. I am always impressed with this subscription.
