First Look
There is always a fold out information card with directions for the project. The project this month is DIY Melt & Pour Soap.
The directions were easy to follow and went step by step.
There were several supplies included: Organic Japanese matcha green tea powder, lavender flowers, rolled oats, granulated sugar, sunflower oil, mini loaf pans, and craft sticks. There was also a cloth bag to put all the soap in.
All the soaps used the 6 oz bag of Goats Milk Soap Base.
All the soaps are made in these three mini-loaf pans.
DIY Melt & Pour Soap: For this craft, you will make three different kinds of soap.
- Green Tea Peppermint Soap
- Peppermint Oatmeal Soap
- Lavender Peppermint Soap
To begin, you mix the dry goods in each of the pans. From left to right: lavender peppermint soap, peppermint oatmeal soap, and green tea peppermint sugar soap.
You melt the goat's milk soap base in a bowl, then add it to each of the pans. You stir each one, then refrigerate.
You need to leave the soap in the refrigerator for at least 30 mins. I did it for at least a couple of hours. You carefully peel the pans apart, then it's time to decorate.
The back of the information guide has directions on how to decorate each soap.
Lavender Peppermint Soap I love the smell of lavender, so this is easily my favorite soap. Each soap was wrapped in plastic wrap, then decorated.
Peppermint Oatmeal Soap This soap smells mainly of peppermint, but the oatmeal is there to help moisturize, sooth inflammation and exfoliate your skin.
Green Tea Peppermint Sugar Soap The green tea in this soap has anti-bacterial properties and is filled with antioxidants. Green tea is also said to protect your skin.
You can tuck all three bars of soap in the little cloth bag and give them as a gift.
Final Thought I love how all the soaps turned out. Each soap smelled great and had a number of benefits for your skin. You could give all three soaps to someone, or split them of for little gifts for teachers. This was a fantastic month and I would love to do more soap making crafts.
