Every box contains an information card, which has descriptions of the items and who makes them.
First Look.
Root Collective Gift Card, Guatemala $50.00 This gift card gives you $50.00 off Root Collective's shoes. The shoes are handmade in Guatemala with handwoven fabric. GlobeIn features Otto in the information guide. Otto was on the wrong path in a gang, but grew up and now employs at risk young men, giving them a stable income.
Vicki Tee, Kenya $30.00 This shirt is from Wildlife Works, which is an organization that focuses on job and community development in areas vulnerable to poaching and deforestation. Every dollar spent on products is used for this initiative. This shirt is a woman's cut, but it fit true to size and it was even a bit roomy. I often size up for women's cut shirts, because I don't like a tight fight. I am glad I didn't size up on this shirt, because it would've been huge.
Foldover Clutch by Tribe Alive, India $50.00 This clutch s made of a beautiful woven cotton and measures: 11×11 in, 11×6.5 in (folded). I don't really use clutches, but this will be a great bag for camping or to store my extra makeup brushes. Unfolded, this bag is quite large. Jyoti Parnami started the company behind this bag in 2002 and now the company has 15 full-time employees and 20 artisans.
One side has blue stripes.
The other side has a solid blue with a geometric pattern. The bag naturally folds with the solid blue on the outside, but you could fold it the other way. This bag has multiple uses and looks!
Tassel Bag Charm, Honduras $10.00 This tassel charm can be used as a keychain, charm on your purse, or hung on your ceiling fan. Because of GlobeIn's order, Mi Esperanza employed 6 new artisans. Just by buying this subscription, you can help someone get a job!
Spotted Bandana or Palm Leaf Basket
Spotted Bandana, Ghana $10.00 If you didn't want a woven basket this month, you received this bandana. I like that the colors are grey and white, because it will match many more items in my closet. The bandana was made by Della, which is a fashion company that also pays fair wages and gives their employees opportunities for education.
Or
Palm Leaf Basket, Mexico $12.00 GlobeIn gives subscribers the opportunity to get one of these beautiful woven baskets, or choose a featured products that month. These are great for wrapping presents or storage around the home.
Final Thought: This box had a $100 value, even without counting the gift card. The gift car doesn't state any purchase restrictions, so I think you should be able to grab a free pair of Root Collectives $47.00 discounted pairs for free! In addition to getting unique items that benefit artisans, this box was very useful too. I will personally use everything in the box. The t-shirt is my favorite item this month. You can save $15.00 on your first box of a three-month subscription with my exclusive coupon, just use the coupon SUBBOXMOM15.
