I love the brick themed boxes.
First Look
The theme for August is “Have Bricks Will Travel”. There is always a themed sticker in the box.
The information card has information about all the items in the box and a description.
Chicago Water Tower This was designed by Rocco Buttliere, who is an architecture student at Illinois Institute of Technology in Chicago. This set came with 80 pieces of Authentic LEGOs. The real water tower was built in 1869 and stands 138 ft tall,
Mystery Defenders This build is a block form of famous superheros. We received Thor, which you can see further down this review.
BR LEGO Minifigure Polybag This is an official LEGO build, make originally fort the 50th anniversary of BR Toy Store in 2013. Brick Loot says this is a rare and collectible set.
Travel Essentials Tile Pack This bag was filled with a tile version of a passport, tickets and currency. This is my favorite item in the box.
Red Telephone Box – Piggy Bank This was the hardest set I have ever put together. It literally took me about 2 hours to complete, no joke. There are 394 micro building blocks in this set. My build was missing 1 necessary piece, but it was in the back, so you can't tell. The finished piece is really cool, because there is a slot in the top for money and you can open the door to get the money out.
This is the finished piece. See the tiny pieces? What was really tricky about this, was the single blocks. It wasn't easy to see if you needed a single rounded block or a square. I actually had to redo some parts.
The top has an opening for change.
Open the door and there is a telephone and a place to get your change out.
Snapo These are building blocks that connect on all sides, not just the top and bottom. My kids each have bigger sets of these from our days with another subscription box. This is a little sample pack of 16 blocks.
Here are the finished builds for the BG LEGO minifig, Thor, and the water tower. They were all easy to assemble.
Final Thought This was a fun box, though that telephone booth was a challenge. It's nice they include builds of a wide range of difficulty levels, so all builders can enjoy it. My 7 year old loves the telephone booth and it's proudly displayed on his shelf. If you want to try Brick Loot, use the code boxmom12 to save 12% (Good on 1 and 3 month subscriptions).
