Chococurb April 2016 Mini Box Review

Chocococurb is a subscription service devoted to introducing people the best tasting chocolate.  Each month Chococurb sends an assortment of personally selected, extraordinary chocolate treats.  Chococurb sources their chocolate from both local chocolatiers and national brands. There are two different subscriptions, the regular box and a mini version.  The regular subscription is $35.00/month and comes with  5 to 7 bars of chocolate.  The Mini box is $20.00/month and comes with 2-3 bars.

When you find that bar of extraordinary chocolate in your box, you can buy more in their online store.  Chococurb is so serious about chocolate, that they have tasting tips posted on their blog.  Apparently, you are not supposed to scarf down the bar.  For the best chocolate tasting experience, pay attention to the sight, smell, sound, touch, and taste of each piece.  For more detailed tips, check out Sarah Benner's article.

The Details:

Everything shipped in a little blue box.  The box itself was really sturdy.  You could easily cover it in paper and reuse it.

First Look

Since it's getting warmer out, Chococurb packed all the chocolate in an insulated pouch.

There was a welcome letter from Chococurb and a sticker.

Theo Chocolate Coconut Curry Bar $3.25 This was one of the most interesting bars of chocolate that I have tried.  This had a strong curry taste, but you couldn't take very much of the coconut.  The chocolate is gluten free, soy free and kosher.

This is a look at the bar, you can see the curry in the bar.

Nibble Chocolate 72% Cocoa Organic Dark Chocolate Bar $6.00 This bar is from the Dominican Republic and is made with organic cocoa beans and organic cane sure.  The chocolate is 72% dark chocolate, so this had a nice rich taste.

This is a look at the chocolate. Each little square has only 30 calories.

Rococo Chocolates Spice Island Dark Chocolate $7.17  This bar is made with 65% cocoa organic chocolate, mixed with cloves, cinnamon, cardamom and nutmeg,  I could really taste the cinnamon with the dark chocolate.

Inside the package, there was details about the chocolate company.

Final Thought: This box had a total value of $16.42, which is a bit less than the cost of the box.  All the bars are artisan quality and if purchased each bar separate, you would have to pay additional shipping.  I was pleased with the three bars in the box and this is a great box for any chocolate lover.  To subscribe, use this link.
