First Look
The information card is built in the monthly guide, which also contains recipes.
There were pictures and descriptions of all the products in the box. There was also a recipe for pizza dough.
Pizza Peel from Epicurean, Duluth, Minnesota $30.00 You use this to transfer the pizza to a hot stone or the oven rack. There is an angled edge on the front, to make it easier to slide the pizza on. This is coated with a special material, so you can keep your hot pizza on the peel, once you pull it out of the oven.
Pizza Cutter from Epicurean, Duluth, Minnesota $20.00 This is made with 100% wood fiber and is made to cute the pizza, not your hand. I can't tell you how many kitchen tools I have cut my self on.
All-natural Pizza Sauce from Scarpetta, Lynn, Massachusetts $10.00 When we make pizza, we make our own sauce too, but this looks great. This has low acidity (which my husband will enjoy) and gluten free. The sauce is made with tomatoes, olive oil, oregano, salt and black pepper. The sauce is packed in this plastic container, which is microwavable, freezable and reusable.
Tipo 00 Flour from Antimo Caputo, Naples, Italy $7.00 This flour is touted as “the world's best pizza flour”. This has been finely milled high-protein flour. There has been no additional gluten added. My husband makes the most amazing pizza dough, but we generally use regular flour. I am excited to checkout this brand.
Active Dry Yeast from Red Star, Milwaukee, Wisconsin $2.50 The packaging is very plain, but this is great yeast. This Red Star dry yeast is the same brand we use in our dough!
Custom Italian Seasoning from Raw Spice Bar, Los Angeles, California $7.00 Our own sauce a huge blend of spices, but it take some time to make. This has garlic, sun dried tomato, onion, oregano, basil, cayenne pepper, fennel, rosemary, thyme and other spices.
Final Thought; This box had a total value of $76.50. I absolutely loved this month's theme and it was filled with items we will use frequently. What I really like about Hamptons Lane is you know everything in the box before you get it. If you aren't into the theme that month, just skip!
