First Look. The theme for December is “Bath”.
Handwoven Basket from Dona Selerina Garcia (Mexico) $12.00 I love getting these baskets every month. The lid makes this a perfect storage container for toys. I use these for all my boys' playsets, you know the ones with like 15 pieces that have to stay together. You can also use these to give a gift, although I haven't been able to part with any, except one.
The basket was filled with tissue paper and all the items were tucked neatly in the box.
There is always a nice little booklet in the box that has information about all the products.
Alaffia Shea & Red Palm Body Lotion in Mango Citrus (Togo) $2.99 Alaffia helps improve conditions of poverty in Togo and the profits from this and other Alaffia products go to the cause. This is made with red palm oil, which hydrates your skin and adds vitamin A. The lotion also has shea butter, which is my must have lotion ingredient for super soft skin.
Silk Face Scrub (Bursa, Turkey) Emre Ustun creates a line of skincare products in Turkey. This is a family business that dates back to 1958. This face scrub is made from pure silk. and is great for exfoliating your skin.
Lemongrass Citrus African Black Soap (Togo) $4.49 This soap smells amazing and has a nice fresh citrus smell. Alaffia uses proceeds from the sale of their products to help fund prenatal care for pregnant women and to buy bicycles for Togolese students.
Pestemal Bath Towel (Denizil, Turkey) $25.00 This towel is thin (100% cotton) but is designed to absorb water well and dry quickly. I tried this out and it worked well and really didn't take long to dry.
Hand Towel (Izmir, Turkey) $13.00 This hand towel is much softer than the big bath towel, These hand towels are made by Oktak and his team of 45 artisans in Turkey.
Final Thought: This box had a total value of over $57.48. This was a great box and everything was really useful. The hand towel is my favorite item in the box, but I have already put everything to use in my bathroom. You can save 25% on your first box of a three-month subscription, just use the coupon SUBMOM.
