The GlobeIn Benefit Basket is a great box for people who love the regular GlobeIn box, but want a bit less. The Benefit Basket contains one crafted good from a remarkable, remote artisan, all in a colorful, handwoven basket from their weaving collective in Oaxaca, Mexico. You will also get story of the artisan, their community, and how you are making an impact on their lives. The Benefit Basket is $19.95/month or $56.95 for 3 months, but you can get $7.00 off your 1 box of a 3 month subscription with the code TRYBENEFIT.
The benefit basket ships in the same box as the regular GlobeIn Box.
First Look
There are always featured information cards about the product in the box.
The information cards have details information about everything in the box and information about the artist.
Palm Leaf Basket (Mexico) $12.00 Last month GlobeIn premiered a new style of basket, so I was surprised to see the old style this month. The new style is lidless and has a square base. I personally love this old style basket. I love these baskets for my boy's tiny toys. You know those play-sets with the 300 pieces, they all go in these baskets. They are also great for gift giving, or to hold that extra roll of toilet paper in the bathroom.
Hand-dyed Batik Table Runner by Della (Ghana) $35.00 I love when I get items from my home that I can use year round. To become a seamstress in Ghana, a woman has to be an apprentice for two years before looking for work. Once they can look for a job, work is hard to find. Della not only makes beautiful goods, but they pay a nice wage and they help their employees with educational opportunities.
GlobeIn featured Dzifa, a 24-year-old woman working for Della. Dzifa has established herself as one of Della's most talented seamstresses. She is the go-to person to make the first samples of new detailed pieces and she is working her way to a management position. Della has been so impressed with her work, they are paying for further her education in the art of batik.
Final Thought: This box had a total value of $47.00, more than double the cost of the box. THe table runner is such a nice piece and it's neutral enough to use year-round. I love seeing what new artisan products GlobeIn will include in their boxes. Want to subscribe? Get $7.00 off your 1 box of a 3 month subscription with the code TRYBENEFIT.
