First Look
GlobeIn's information guides gives you a background on who and where everything was made.
Bud Vase from Nepal $12.00 This little vase is really cute and perfect for flowers my children pick for me. This vase is handmade from the 1st stoneware leader in Nepal, Tej Bhadur Prajapati. All the vases in this month's GlobeIn boxes will be the same size and color, but some will be different shapes.
Handwoven Bowl from Mexico $10.00 This basket is made from handwoven palm, which is flexible to use, but lasts a long time. The bowl is quite sturdy and not as flexible as I expected it to be. I think I am going to give this to my husband to use for his wallet, keys and change. These baskets vary in color from box to box this month.
Y'abai Handicrafts Seahorse Pillow Pet from Guatemala $22.00 Y'abai is an organization that helped victims of Hurricane Stan find work in the mountains, after residents were displaced from the coastline. Silvia Marzariegos is the designer of these seahorses, and all the money made is going to pay for her sister's cancer treatment.
Massage Oil Candle from Ghana $5.00 This candle is scented with lavender and made with soy wax, shea butter and essential oils. I have never used a massage candle, so I will probably use this as a regular candle.
New Palm-leaf basket design $12.00 This is a new design by Don Juan Garcia Lopez, featuring a now lidless square basket. I honestly was a bit disappointed when I first found out about the lidless basket, but I have been able to find uses for both of my baskets so far. I think these are great for art supplies, Kleenex boxes, and kitchen utensils.
