GlobeIn October 2015 Review

GlobeIn theme for Octoeber is “Cozy” and with the weather getting colder, I am ready for some cozy items.  Boxes are $35.00 month to month and filled with handmade items from all over the world.  I love the quality of the items in my GlobeIn boxes.  You also find out about where each item comes from and who made it. You can save 25% on your first box of a three-month subscription, just use the coupon SUBMOM.

GlobeIn has also has a Benefit Basket.   The Benefit Basket contains one crafted good from a remarkable, remote artisan, all in a colorful, handwoven basket from their weaving collective in Oaxaca, Mexico.  You will also get story of the artisan, their community, and how you are making an impact on their lives.  The Benefit Basket is $19.95/month or $56.95 for 3 months, but you can get $7.00 off your 1 box of a 3 month subscription with the code TRYBENEFIT.

GlobeIn shipped in a larger box this month.  The quote on the side reads “Today grateful for the cozy, little moments in life” – Heather Stillufsen

First Look.  There was some packing material on top.

Each GlobeIn box contains an information book filled with descriptions all the items in the box and details about where each item was made.

Palm Leaf Basket (Mexico) $12.00 Each box contains a hand-woven basket from Mexico.  These baskets can be used all around your house, or be used to hold a gift.

Divine Chocolate Cocoa Powder (Ghana) $3.84  Kuapa Kokoo owns Divine Chocolate, which is a cocoa cooperative.  Members get more than just a share in the profits, they also get a real say in the company.  This cocoa is made of dark chocolate and has a rich taste.  Globein also included two recipes for the chocolate.

Simple, Creamy and “Surprisingly” Healthy Hot Chocolate: I will take any excuse to eat chocolate.  This recipe uses raw sugar and a little bit of milk to make some tasty hot chocolate.

Cocoa Roasted Almonds: This is the recipe I am more eager to try.  I love almonds, and chocolate covered ones sound divine.

Marquet Fair Trade Free Weave Scarf (Thailand) $21.99 This scarf measures 62 x 22 inches in size and is made of hand-woven 100% locally grown cotton.  Thailand has The One Tambon One Product program which has groups of villages work together (Tambons) for one craft.  The scarf is made by the Ton Fai Tambon, which focuses on weaving.

La Souk Ceramique Mug (Tunisia) $15.00 This vase was one of the spoilers GlobeIn released and I love it.  The purple and blue look great together.  This much is handmade, hand-painted and will hold 16 oz of liquid.  This is a great mug for that hot chocolate and this is tall enough to use as a vase.

Final Thought: This box had a total value of $52.83.  I really enjoyed this “cozy” box, it was perfect for fall.  I love black and this will be a great scarf for fall/winter.  The mug is beautiful and I can't wait to try the cocoa.  You can save 25% on your first box of a three month subscription, just use the coupon SUBMOM.  If you love the mug, you can subscribe for 3 months or longer and get a second mug free when you use this link and the code COZYOffer valid for new customers only with a purchase of a 3-month or longer Artisan Box subscription.
