Kiwi Crate ships in a green box that looks like a crate.
The theme for this month is “Woodland Creatures”. The two features crafts are My Forest Friends and My Marble Run.
The box was packed with supplies.
Every box come with Explore! Magazine, which is filled with cartoons, games, recipes and crafts. This month, the book has crafts to make your own burrow, and binoculars.
There was a recipe to make your own wild animal trail mix.
There was a cute information spread on what a beaver's lodge looks like.
In the back of the book, there are little animal masks to make.
My Marble Run This project was low on the messiness scale and medium on the parental involvement. Your child will make a marble run, just like a beaver dam.
When you open the booklet, there is an example of the finished project on the left and a supply list on the right.
The directions were pretty easy for my 6 year old to follow, even without reading them.
This is a list of everything needed for the project.
The project was fairly easy, although there were some challenging parts. I didn't get pictures of all the steps, as I was helping T with his Koala Crate, while helping L with his. You apply gray velcro to the rocks, then form the logs. The logs were a bit tricky to put together, which made L a bit frustrated.
This is the finished project. There were three wooden marbles in the kit. This project is really neat, because you can move the logs around to create a different pattern.
Here is another look at the completed project, this is super cute.
My Forest Friends was the second project in the box. This ranked low on the messiness scale and low on the parental involvement. Your child will make little zipper pulls.
Again, the finished project is on the left, and the supply list is on the right.
This project was really easy, you just apply the stickers and stuffing.
These are the finished critters. I helped with the owl, but L did the rest on his own.
Final Thought: This was a really cute box. L loves animals, so he had fun with this box. The marble run is his favorite project, and both boys have been playing with it. The zipper pulls will end up on L's backpack, and suitcases.
