Bramble Box September 2015 Review “Let's Go Camping”
Bramble Box is going camping this month! I didn't love last month's box, so I was excited to see if the September box would impress me (spoiler: I was impressed). The September 2015 Bramble Box theme is “Let's Go Camping”! Bramble Box is a play subscription box for children 3-8 years old. Each box is $25.00/month and boxes are filled with dramatic play materials. Boxes have specific themes, like post office, detective, and scientist.

Everything comes in a plain brown box, and there is always a theme sticker on the top right hand of the box.
First Look
On the inside of the lid, there is always a sticker with a list of all the activities in the box.
There was a welcome letter to kids, giving them an introduction to the role of Forest Ranger. There was even a craft idea at the bottom. On the back of the card, there was a list of animal footprints you child can look for in the forest.
The box also came with a Jr Forest Ranger badge.
You can make you own Fire Danger Rating scale.

You can personalize the back of the fire danger scale with the name of your camp.
There was corrugated cardboard, tissue paper, a jar and candle. These supplies are used to make a lantern and camp fire.
A two-sided card gave details on how to complete each project.
L started with the lantern. You cut the flames out of tissue paper, then put them in the jar with the candle.
This gives you some idea of what it looks like in dimmer light. It actually looks cooler in real life.
The next activity was a fishing game. Two fish templates were included to cut out and use an stencils. L really didn't want to trace and cut out all the fish, so I did it.
After catching the sight words, he put in on the camp fire he made. We were not given glue dots in our box, so we used packing tape.
I used the enclosed stickers to put L's sight words on the fish. I used this game to help practice for this weeks test. L hates working on sight words and this game made it less tortuous. I with there was a hole in the stick for the yard to go through, the yard falls off rather easily.
The boys brought out the play tent and had a great time with this month's box.
Final Thought: This month, Bramble Box really did a great job. My boys liked this month's box much better than last month's circus theme. My sons love the outdoors, so this box really captured their interests. Bramble Box is a great way for your child to create/craft, and use their imaginations too.
