Koala Crate July 2015 Review
Koala Crate is a subscription for 3-4 year olds. Boxes are $19.95 and filled with a fun magazine and crafts. First Look
Imagine magazine is a partnership with Highlights magazine. Inside there are poems, games, and more.
There is one instruction booklet to cover all three crafts.
There is a sheet that tells you what skills your child will learn with each activity, how messy it is and how much parent involvement is needed.
Easy Play Dough: Your child mixes a few ingredients together to make their own play dough. This activity rated high on the messiness scale and high on parental involvement.
All the ingredients were included, even a silicone placemat.
Mixing the ingredients was super easy, your child just pours everything together into the bowl.
Tyler had fun stirring everything together. I had to help mix all the ingredients, because it got a bit sticky, but the play dough came together nicely.
The finished dough smelled great and was fun to play with. Tyler loves play dough and will play with it longer than any other toy.
Number Activity Mats: Once the dough is done, there were several activity mats to use with the dough. There were mats to work on counting, measuring, making funny faces, and making a snack. This activity rated medium on the messiness scale and medium on parental involvement.
There were four mats and two tools to use with the dough. You can put the placemat on the paper mats, so the mat won't get messed up.
T had a great time rolling out the dough on his mat.
He worked on the number mat first. This was great at working his fine motor skills.
The next mat was two people, so T made one to look like daddy.

Number Games: A set of dominoes and two dice were included in the box. This activity rated low on the messiness scale and medium on parental involvement.
You child can use these dominoes to play traditional dominoes, or your child can roll the dice and match the card to the number on the dice. T and I played the matching game with dice and had fun.
Final Thought: I think this was my 3 year old's favorite box, he loves play dough, so that was the highlight of this box. Koala Crate is a great box for little kids. The projects are easy got my son to do and I like how each activity builds on each other.
