Homemade Beauty Box ships in a cute box and comes by USPS.

First Look:  There was a sheet on top, that gave some general information about Homemade Beauty Box.

022

All the materials were neatly packed in the box with tons of squiggles.  The project this month was a nail polish diy.  This project will let you make 8 bottles of nail polish.

The instructions were in a little booklet, but there was a full length tutorial on their website HERE.  I actually used the video tutorial for my project, and it was really easy to follow.

040

There was a sheet of sticker labels to stick on the bottles of nail polish.  Homemade Beauty Box included some labels with actual suggested names and there were blank labels, so you can create your own names.

There were five different colorants in the box:

  • Peacock Glitter
  • Red Blue Mica
  • Coral Mica
  • Luster Black Mica
  • Cellini Red Mica

069

There were 8 brushes, 8 lids, 4 mini scoops, 4 mini funnels for the colorant and mixing beds.

072

There were also 8 bottles for the nail polish.  Using the full monthly cost of the box, it makes each bottle of polish only $3.94 a piece.

074

There was a large bottle of nail polish base included.  This is what is mixed with the coolant, to make nail polish.  The nail polish base is also 3 Free.

082

My set up.  Once you fill the bottle with the nail polish base, you have to add your colorant.

085

Homemade Beauty Box gave several different methods to filled the bottles with colorant.  I ended up using a piece of folded paper.

095

These are four of my finished polishes.  I ended up with a hot pink polish, a custom pink/teal glitter polish, grey polish and a beautiful coral.

087

These are swatches of each of the colors.  I like the formula and the colors.

092

I decided to experiment and make my own custom color.  This color is a mix of red blue mica and peacock glitter.  I ended up naming it “Bubble Gum Dance Party”.

Final Thought:  This project was really fun and I was impressed that the project came with supplies for 8 polishes.  This would be a fun craft to complete, then you could give the polishes as gifts.  The month to month cost of the box comes to less than $4.00 per polish.  The project was easy and it took me only about 20 mins to complete.  I still have supplies for the other four polishes.  If you want to try Homemade Beauty Box, use this link with the code BCA25 to save $10.00 on your first box.
