The Earth Day Kit came in a white padded envelope.
There was a letter from Kia and Kyle. Dr Barnes is a botanist at the mission center, and he needs your help! Earth Day is April 22nd and Dr Barnes' team is cleaning up the local park. The mission for this month is to plant the seeds and find out what they are! Unlike previous month, there is no online mission this month. Everything is in the kit!
As with previous months, there was a checklist for what your child needs to do.
Grow: There are three seed bods that need identified. Your child plants the seeds and then documents their growth in their field notes. For this activity, your child gets an empty can or container.
Seeds and Field Notes: There was a bag of three colorful seed pods and a journal, complete with pen.
Decorate: Junior Explorers included books of tattoos and stickers!
The tattoos and stickers were exceptionally pretty this month. I love all the colors.
Become an Expert: There was a giant book filled with activities, games and learning opportunities. Everything is themed around Earth Day and living “green”.
Here is a peek inside the book. This book was packed.
Share: There were three pins included in the packet. Your child can give two to friends and teach them about Earth Day too.
Final Thought: What a fun month! My 5 1/2 year old loves gardening and he loves tending to plants. We have to get some potting soil (our dirt is horrible) and we are going to plan our plants. I will up date our review as our plants grow. I can't wait to see what they are! Junior Explorers is such a fun subscription. You can try Junior Explorers 50% off for your first month. You will pay only $9.50, plus $2.00 shipping for your first box. To sign up, use this link with the code BOXMOM50.
