GlobeIn is a global artisan subscription box. For $29.99, GlobeIn sends an assortment of handmade goods, from artisans all over the world. GlobeIn also sends an information card with a background on each of the products. Each artisan sets their own prices and GlobeIn doesn't take a commission. GlobeIn also gives back 10% back into the country of origin. GlobeIn recently improved their boxes by added more goodies. GlobeIn offered me a box to review and I eagerly said yes.
GlobeIn ships in a little brown box and is delivered by USPS.
First Look: I was excited to see a woven basket. I love baskets, they are great for beauty samples.
GlobeIn didn't get their new information cards printed in time, so they emailed mine to me. This month's box is all about products to help you relax, refresh and renew.
GlobeIn included information about every product in the box.
Guayaki Brand Yerba Mate Tea: 34 cents each Guayaki included three different teas: Greener Green Tea, Pure Empowerment, and Traditional. The Guayaki business was started to help preserve the South American Atlantic Rain forest. They partner with local farmers and help show them ways to use the rain forest to grow crops, without destroying the rain forest. Guayaki buys what the farmers produce, and in turn, the farmers must repopulate the rain forest with naive trees.
Women for Peace Olive Oil Soap with Dead Sea Mud $9.00: Sindyanna of Galilee is located in Northern Isreal. This business works with Arab and Jewish women to strength women's empowerment in their community. This soap is made with Dead Sea Mud to give your skin a clean, great feeling
Hand Painted Candle by Nobunto in Napier, South Africa $6.67 This candle is hand painted. Nobunto strives to alleviate poverty in their small community. I don't see how I can burn a hand painted candle. It's so pretty!
Alfaffia Shea + Honey Nourishing Shampoo $2.24 Alfaffia was created to help with poverty in West Africa. This shampoo is made with shea butter and is for dry damaged hair. It's says the smell is citrus blossom, but I think it has an “earthy” smell. I tried this out and my hair feels very soft.
Natural Hemp Washcloth by Bagdha Enterprises: $10.00 This wash cloth is made with hemp fiber. This is made like an oven mitt, so it makes a great exfoliating mitt. This also smells fantastic.
Palm Leaf Basket by Martina Garcia: Martina learned to weave baskets at age 6. Since selling her pieces to GlobeIn, she now has a little market to sell her baskets in her community. I love this basket and I am going to store it in my bathroom.
Final Thought: This was a great box. I didn't get the exact value but I calculated a $28.93 value without the basket. If you were to buy each of these products seperatly, you would pay an additional $50.22 in shipping costs. I love artisan products. I love finding products that I can't find anywhere else. I also appreciate how GlobeIn helps artisan crafters all over the world. If you want to try GlobeIn, use the code SUBBOXMOM to save 25% on your first box ($7.50). You will pay only $22.49 for your first box.
