My son's December 2014 Bluum box arrived before I even received a shipping notification. Bluum is $24.95 a month and each month you get a box of toys, personal items and snacks for the age and stage of your child. Bluum also lets you make selections about what milestones your child has reached. Bluum then uses that information to better customize your box. You can try Bluum and save 50%, by clicking HERE. Note: I would recommend using a prepaid card to sign up, as it can be difficult to cancel. This month's box was for my T, my 2-year-old. It is the 34 month old boy box.
Bluum ships in a big red box. It is really always a surprise what you will get, as each box is different.
First Look
Crocodile Creek ABC Board Book $5.99 We received this same book last month. Well, last month's book had an apple of the cover and this one has a hippo. This is one of the milestone items for T. I am rather annoyed at getting the same book again. Last month's book was okay, this month, it's not okay.
Dolphin Squirting Bath Book $4.19 We received the squirting fish book in October's box. Not only is this book a duplicate, but it is rated for a 3 month old. The age range on the back is for a 3 month old and up. Since the age said “and up”, would Bluum send this to a 5 year old? My son is almost 3! He doesn't need an infant bath book.
Lauri Crepe Rubber Puzzle $9.98 This is a foam puzzle with 6 pieces. T is really getting into puzzles and I think this is a bit young for him, but it's one of the best things in the box.
EX SOX $10.00 Okay, so these are pretty cool. They are socks with handles! These help little hands put on socks. I am giving these to T for Christmas. These are pretty cute too.
Little Pim French Disc 4 $18.00 I am really not wild about foreign language DVDs. I have tried one and my kids couldn't get into it. I will end up trying to swap this.
Boing Energy Travel Tablets 10 count: $4.99 This is a natural supplement that helps boost energy. This is gluten-free and vegan. I am always in need of some extra energy, since I have to very active boys.
Final Thought: This box had a total value of $53.15. While this box had a high value, it is not I box I liked. The only items I was really excited about, were the socks and the energy supplement. The puzzle is okay, but I didn't like getting two duplicates or another French DVD. I think Bluum is too inconsistent in their boxes. You can try Bluum and save 50%, by clicking HERE and using the code SHARE50. Note: I would recommend using a prepaid card to sign up, as it can be difficult to cancel. If you really want a box for 0-5 year olds, I recommend Citrus Lane. Citrus Lane consistently has high quality products and a good value. After a great first box or two, my Bluum boxes have declined to the point where my December box was only 4 products with a $25.00 value for which I paid $29.00! I’m not one of those box subscribers that thinks I will love or even like everything I get, but I really think that December’s box may have been missing an item – other boxes for five month old babies I saw on the internet had 5 items. There also has not been a “mom” item the last couple of months. I contacted Bluum about the issues and only getting four items in the last month, and I got a “too bad, so sad” response. So, fair warning to anyone considering this subscription box.
Bluum has not impressed me lately. I rarely/almost never advertise another box over the box I am reviewing, but I can’t recommend Bluum right now.
