Ivy Kids is a subscription box for children 3-8. Ivy Kids is a small, home-based business started by a stay-at-home mom and former teacher. Each kit is personally made with “tender loving care†by a teacher/mom on the Ivy Kids’ team.
Kids are $38.95 a month for the monthly option, and you get so much stuff. You can also add on a sibling package for $5.00 a month. Each month you will receive a kit containing a book and ten or more activities based upon the story. Everything you need to learn and play is included in your kit. The activities have been carefully crafted to encourage curiosity, problem solving, and creativity in young children. The Ivy Kit games and projects are a fun way to develop fine and gross muscles, build math and literacy skills, encourage reading comprehension, and promote scientific thinking. My son has really loved his Ivy Kids boxes.

Every activity in the box comes with an instruction sheet. The instruction sheet listed everything you need (all included in the box), how to do the activity, Little Ivy and Junior Ivy Tips, Questions to scaffold leaning, and learning goals and developing skills. Since the box is for kids 3-8, Ivy Kids breaks down activies for two different ages. Little Ivy Instructions are for kids 3-5 and Junior Ivy instructions are for 5-8 year olds. I like that they have activities for both age ranges, this ensures no one is board or overwhelmed.
Monkey Race: This game uses a stamp and a pair of dice. Your child rolls the dice and then stamps column with the appropriate number, and try to see which column gets filled first.
This was a great activity to help L with recognizing numbers. 3 was the winner.
Monkey See Monkey Do: This game travels a monkey through a game to reach a tree. Your child spins a spinner and goes through the game. There are also actions in the game like “stomp foot” etc. This looks like a fun action game.
T joined L and I on this game. I was surprised he followed along, and didn't destroy the board. L loved doing the actions.
Decorate Your Own Cap: Your child uses the the enclosed markers to decorate the cap.
Decorate Your Own Monkey: Your child uses the the enclosed markers to decorate the monkey.
Story Retelling: After you read the story, you and your child uses the monkey, hat and mustaches to recreate the story.
L has really progressed with his coloring. He now spends a few mins on projects, instead of seconds.
Five Little Monkeys: You child uses the monkeys to act out the words of the enclosed songs.
T really loved this activity. He loves songs and he loved playing with the puppets.
Monkey Memory Game: You read the book All About Monkeys with your child to learn more about monkeys, Then use the monkey card to play memory.
L and I had a really competitive game of memory, and he learned about monkeys too.
Paper Bag Monkey: Your child cuts out all the monkey parts and makes them into a paper bag monkey.
Hungry Monkey Bingo: Your child puts all the letter cards in the paper bag monkey and each person gets a bingo card. You and your child takes turn drawing card and matching them to the bingo cards.
Get Back the Caps: Your child spins the spinner and adds and removes caps the caps to the cards, depending on if a monkey or number is spun. The goals is to get the caps back on the man's head.
T even played with L on this game. It was fun for both and they ended up in a tie.
Final Thought: This was a really fun box once again. There were 11 activities total for only $38.95. I like there are so many activities, this box will last the whole month. I like that Ivy Kids put so much thought and planning into each box. Each activity is not only fun but also educational, and it also fits with the theme of the story.
