First Look
The theme for this month is “Spice Up Your Life”. I instantly thought of the Spice Girls, when I saw the theme. I also got a bit worried. I am the only person that eats spicy food in my house, so I was hoping I wouldn't have to eat this whole box myself.
The inside of the brochure had a list of all the items in the box. They also list if the food is gluten free, etc.
Way Better Snacks Simply So Sweet Chili Corn Tortilla Chips: These are really really good. These are non gmo, gluten free and vegan. They look like a really healthy chip, but they taste like they should be bad for you. These are a win.
Mandy's Rich Chocolate Cookie Thins : These taste like a chocolate Ritz, which may not sound good, but they are very tasty.
Love with Food Churro Kettle Corn: This is by Love with Food. I felt the popcorn was a bit stale, but it had a nice sweet flavor and a tiny kick.
Maruso Ghost Soy Sauce by Maruso I don't eat soy sauce, so I can't really give an opinion on this. Love with Food recommends using this for a marinade or to make fried rice.
S Spice Caramels by Shotwell Candy Co: My husband like Shotwell Candy Co, but these didn't make the cut. They are chocolate caramels with cinnamon, star anise, anise seed, ginger and clove. My husband thought they tasted like dirt.
Fogg City Spice Co Lemon Rosemary Seasoning: This is organic and gluten free. As soon as a saw this, I knew I was going to use this on some chicken. It smells great (has a citrus smell).
Ziggy Marley's Roasted Hempseeds Sea Salt and Pepper: These are teeny tiny little flavored seeds. These actually look like they would be really gross, but I liked them.
Green Superfood by Amazing Grass: This is gluten free, organic, vegan and non gmo. This is a drink packet that you add to water, juice or a smoothie. As long as I can't taste “green stuff”, I will use it in my drink.
There were several coupons for the soy sauce, cookies and caramels.
Final Thought: This box was a mixed bag for me. I either really liked the item, or didn't like it at all. I loved the chips, they were the best thing in the box. I am actually going to see if Love with Food has some in their shop. I really enjoy my Love with Food subscription. Sometimes I get snacks that I don't like, but I have found some amazing snacks through Love with Food.
